Need some help
We are going to Orlando the end of Oct and will have a couple of days to spend at the beach. we went to Trasure Island last year and it was nice.
I am finding a good deal at the Holiday Inn Cocoa beach and was thinking about tring that and doing the space center.

I am afraid it is a good deal cause it is a dump??

can anyone tell me if cocoa beach is ok? We are not huge beach people(not sunbathers), but the kids liked looking for shells and playing in the sand last year. I know there will not be so many shells, but is it an ok beach/area anyhow??

I have read mixed reviews on the hotel. We stayed at the Motel 6 before our cruise and it was fine. We did not venture to the beach so can't help you there.

You might want to search the cruise board for a lot more opinions. A lot of people stay in the area before/after their cruise.

Good luck!

I can't give you any advice on the hotel but I can tell you that Cocoa beach is really a nice beach. I spent many vacations there and my kids loved playing in the sand. Now my husband and I are talking about taking the grandkids there! Have fun::yes::

We drove over lasdt time to go to the beach. Loved it. We are doing a carnival cruise next week and have booked the Holiday Inn for Wed. Night. I will post after our stay how it is.
Behind Ron Jon there is a parking area for the beach. I believe they charge 5.00. The Holiday Inn says it is Oceanfront so I am assuming we can walk right onto the beach. I'll let you know. Happy Planning.

I believe Holiday Inn is right on the beach. I remember walking near it last year when we stayed one night at the Hampton Inn a few blocks up the street. Almost booked a room this year at HI but not all rooms are ocean facing with balconies (the ones that do are very expensive). Cocoa Beach is nice for a one or two day stay but if I were to make a week of it would rather do the gulf side like Destin.
