My DH's company has an office in Chiswick and he will be there during our April vacation so we are going with him:banana: Now I need help in planning. We will arrive April 16 and be there until the 24th. Can anyone recommend a place that would fit all of us in one room, there is myself, DH, DS8, DS4, and DS3. DH's work will pay for 1 room because he has to be there. Also DH will be working Monday-Thursday, what can I do with the boys while he is at work? Hopefully he can leave the office early and do things at night, any ideas? We probably won't get a car while in England but do I need to bring carseats with me if we do? How about nappies(sp?), DS3 is still in them, we use huggies here and I didn't know if the markets carry that brand, I'd hate to bring them with me, gotta save room for souveniers :)
We are also thinking of taking the train on Thursday to Disneyland Paris and staying until Saturday and then taking the train back to catch our flight on Sunday the 24th. Does this sound ok? Am I crazy? ::yes:: We tend to plan everything at the last minute. If we go this will replace our trip to Disneyland California.
Does the Eurostar go right to Disneyland(I saw they have a Disneyland stop on the website) or do we need a cab? Any help would be wonderful. Thanks in advance.
P.S. DH really, really wants to move there so I guess I'll be looking around to see if I like it.

Hi,

Chiswick Park is on the District Line on the London Underground so it will be easy getting about in London. There's tons to do in London both during the day and at night so you won't get bored!

Yes we do have Huggies over here, they're the 2nd most popular brand of nappies. If you are planning on just staying in and around London you wont need to hire a car. If you decided to go to Disneyland Resort Paris you can get the Eurostar (train) from Waterloo direct to Marne le Vallee which is the DLP train station. There's only one train a day which goes to and from this station and the return journey would get you back to Waterloo approximately 8.30pm ish. I always get off at Ashford so I've never taken the train back into London.

Hi there,

Firstly, you want to avoid a car in London unless absolutely necessary. Chiswick you can get to central London quite easily via the train or underground depending exactly where in Chiswick. Having spent a couple of days in London this weekend with the kids I can recommend the London Aquarium, the Science Museum which both my 11 yr old and 5 yr old loved and next door is to this is the natural history museum which again they both loved. The train companies are doing 2 or the price of 1 tickets at the moment which means one of your kids would get in free of charge. The Tower of London is also great for kids.

If there is anything I can help you with just ask.

I just wanted to add that although there is only one Eurostar a day directly to DLP it is very easy to get to DLP from any Eurostar journey. The Eurostar from Waterloo arrives in the Gard du Nord in Paris. From there simply catch the RER line A4 directly to Chesney (the DLP station.) We did this last month without any problems.
Have a great trip.

Hi!

Just wanted to add when we go to Disneyland Paris we change in Lille which is very easy - get off the Eurostar at Lille and get on the TGV to Chessy Marne-la-Vallee (the DLP stop). The train station is literally 5 minutes walk (if that) to the entrance of the parks. Also the buses to the hotels go from right in front of the station if you're staying in a resort hotel.

Have a great trip!

Would be worth looking at Premier Lodge or Holiday Inn to see which does family rooms for the 5 of you?

Well, DH just got off the phone with the Chiswick office and it looks like we're not going now :sad1: Thanks for all the help though, I'll file this away for a future trip. Now for the good news. DH had already taken the time off so now we are going WDW. 5 nights at POR  We managed to get a really good rate and apparently they have trundle beds so we can squeeze into one room.
Thanks for making my first thread a success!! :grouphug:
You guys are great, no wonder DH wants to move there :teeth:

princess: Try looking on yourstay.com, which lists self catering accomodation in London. It might be easier for you with the little one. :earsgirl:
