Does the Haunted Mansion get "dressed up" for the Holidays? Is it like Disneylands where it becomes the nightmare before Christmas? We love the Disneyland Holiday version and we are excited to see WDW's haunted mansion.

Thanks :)

WDW's Haunted Mansion doesn't get 'dressed up' for the holidays like it's Disneyland counterpart. It's still a great attraction though! :thumbsup2

I've read on these boards the reasoning for it.

DL is a resort where many more locals visit and so they can go any other time and see the normal version.

However WDW has many more international and out of town guests who may not get to see the HM more than once per year, or once per every few years, and they dont want to take away the "normal" version from them.

The Haunted Mansion in WDW stays exactly the same excellent attraction, 365 days a year (thank goodness).

When we went to Disneyland last November, I was just too excited to hit the Haunted Mansion, as it's my favorite attraction at WDW. To say I was extremely disappointed would be an understatement. Left that attraction pretty angry, since it was not the Haunted Mansion, but rather a ride about the Nightmare Before Christmas movie.

We LOVE the NBC overlay at Disneyland's HM. It really is amazing what they do.

It has been reported here and elsewhere that starting next year, MGM Studios will start having a Halloween Party that is more "mature"--meaning it will be a little more scary than Mickey's Not So Scary party. The characters from Nightmare Before Christmas will be featured here with Jack the master of ceremonies. This sounds like a lot of fun. There is a lot of speculation this is in response to Universal's more adult themed party. I hope, though, Disney doesn't go the gory route with chainsaw murders and lopped off heads flying around like that at Universal. I've seen videos of their Halloween Party and it's just gruesome and gross. I think Disney could really have fun with a version that meets somewhere between the two.

No Corpse Bride either? :confused3
Corpse Bride isn't Disney. ;)

I love NBC and would LOVE to see them do this, there's rumors every year it seems that they'll do it, but so far, nothing.
Now that MGM Halloween party sounds great...where did you get that info?

It does stay the same 365 days a year, for which I am extremely thankful! I hate the movie "Nightmare Before Christmas", and HM is my favorite ride!

Interesting to see how many people don't seem to like NBC and/or the NBC overlay.

Last year we took my DD (4) to DL and she absolutely LOVED the NBC overlay. She had to get a Sally doll which sleeps with nightly.

This year we are going to WDW and she asks if Jack and Sally are going to be there at the Mansion. I told her they wouldn't be. She now steadfastly refuses to go on that ride. (I'm hoping that if we just drop the subject until we are there she'll change her mind). This is a girl that loved TOT, Splash Mtn, BTMRR, Space Mtn, etc. So it can't be the "scariness" of the ride.
