We have a Home Bargains shop opened up near us (Romford) and I found some great things in there for our holiday this summer.

Aside from the sun cream being a good price (£3.99 for brands such as Nivea), I picked up some adults ponchos (navy blue) for £1.79 each. They are a similar quality material to the Disney ones, just not see-through, and have a drawstring toggle around the hood, and poppers up the side. I also bought some kids ones for 49p each - they come in different colours (pink with large butterfly, purple with lots of butterflies, black with flowers, or red ladybird) and have an elasticated hood and poppers up the sides. They only had size 4-6 years and measured on my 4yr old DD, it comes just below her bottom, so may not be very good for older children.

But just thought I'd share, in case it helps others. :)

Thanks for that! Where abouts where the ponchos? With the outdoor stuff?
I'll have to nip in one day this week and see if my HB has them :)

Just to add to the bargains, sports direct still have adults and kids water shoes for £3-£4 each :)

The adult ones were with the sleeping bags and outdoor stuff, and the kids were down the baby aisle, with the children's pyjamas and hair accessories.

We're only doing half a day at Typhoon Lagoon and a little over half a day at Blizzard Beach...do you think we will need them? Will we need them around the resort pool?
Also can you wear them when doing slides at the water parks?

They were fine to keep on for most rides - the exceptions were Summit Plummet and Slush n Gusher. My memory the first time on SP was my arm full of crocs (mine and DD's) breaking free in all directions near the bottom of slide. That and the spray in my face!

LOL! I don't think I'll be brave enough for Summit Plummet..eek!

I bought some a few weeks ago (mine were £6 and the kids were £6 for 2 pairs). They are comfy, too!

I have had probably half a dozen pairs over the years - they are GREAT for anything wet, or muddy! I will be taking mine on my next trip.

These are the shoes: http://www.sportsdirect.com/hot-tuna-infant-splasher-shoes-226030?colcode=22603006 DD and DS wore them last weekend while in and out of the paddling pool, to test them out.

Ok I'm a little confused (it doesn't take much ;) ). My cousins who are coming with us are 9 and 6, the 9 year old is in a size 3 or 4 and the 6 year old is in a size 1.
On sports direct the £3 splash shoes are listed as infant. Does that mean just for toddlers?
The Junior ones are £7 which is a little more than I want to pay.
Wonder if eBay has any cheap?

DD is 4 and I got her a size C9 as she's a size 9, and DD2 is a size 6, so I got a C6, which are £3. They have the ladies ones for £5.50 which go from an adult size 3 to size 9. Mine are ladies and are plain black, so could be unisex. The men's are the same price too.

Thanks, so I'll get the 9yo ladies size 3 and the 6yo I will have or order the junior ones for.
Just looked on eBay and they're either the same price or more expensive.

Agh the junior sizes start at a size 3. Will have to get his off eBay.

Thanks managed to get them for £3.75 on sports direct in a size 1 in the end. Got the size 3 for 4.50 and my mums for £5.50 and mine were £1 (bargain!), so I got all 4 pairs for £18.75 including delivery. Thanks so much for letting us know about that site!
You're welcome. Glad you managed to get some :)
