Holiday Dole Whip??

I think once I had that Dole Whip in my hands the color wouldn't matter. ;)

There must have just been too many lawsuits when they used RED DYE #40 vice GREEN DYE #2. :)

I finally tried Dole Whip on our last visit - they serve it right at the Poly Counter Service. YUM -- :thumbsup2

Red #40 used to be made from coal tar, now it is made from petroleum. It's chemical name is 6-hydroxy-5-(2-methoxy-5-methyl-4-sulfophenylazo)-2 naphtalenesulfonic acid sodium salt

though Green Dye #3 doesn't sound much better: This substance has been found to have Tumorigenic effects in experimental animals, as well as Mutagenic effects in both experimental animals and humans. It furthermore risks irritation of eyes, skin, digestive tract, and respiratory tract in its undiluted form.

(As long as it isn't Soylent Green I think I would like to be eating a Dole Whip right now!!)

At least they didn't say anything about why Peter Pan is missing from Adventureland.

 j/k!!

Don't eat the Soylent Pan!

I mean Dole Whips are yellow. Don't mess with stuff.

What if WDW turned Cindy's Castle into a giant cake or put a magic wand on Spaceship Earth...

Oh. Right.

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Thanks. Having a rough day. Need the laugh.

Pineapple is my favorite condomint. To me it makes anything taste better. On that note, I didn't care for the Dole Whip. It was just OK to me. Am I the only one?

They changed the color of the vanilla in October when we were there too. I forget what color it was as I had a regular Dole Whip Float.

I think 1996 but someone will know for sure.

The cake-stle was 1996-1997, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of WDW. My first trip was a high school graduation gift the summer of '97 and I barely took any castle pics because of that pepto pink mess!

Lol...I was there one of those years, I'm not sure when, I think it might have been 96, but I remember the castle looking like a cake...I thought it was pretty! Guess I'm the only one...:confused3 :lmao:

I also like the green Dole whip...however, before about 3 weeks ago, I never had a Dole whip in my life, so I've never seen what they are supposed to look like.

My first Dole Whip was was the red and green (vanilla/pineapple) swirl on 11/18. :D When I got one on 12/1 it wasn't colored, though - maybe they ran out of dye that day.

Please report back and tell us what they have now. Photos would be great too!

I am "green" with envy. We have to make due with yellow when we partake on our August trips.
