"Holiday Dining" Price Increases

:scared1: Talk about being taken advantage of. This sort of situation goes to show how much Disney is just caring more and more about their profits, and not how the guests feel. Looks like we will be cutting out over half of our ressies. Thanks, Disney... smooth move.

Walt must be turning over in his grave.

Hey, I just realized I'll be down there Dec 8th-16th. That means my DDE will not be accepted on Dec 16th? That's over a week before Christmas.

Yeah, I know. I had been hoping to go down before X mas but the school system here didn't co-operate, last day before holidays is the 21st, which is the last Party day. Didn't want to try to attend the last party since I'm sure it's insane, so we booked the 2nd through 6th, since DH has to work NYE night. (actually they also scheduled him for the night of the 1st but someone agreed to work it). With the pacakge code I'm still paying around $250 a night at YC, plus tickets for four. A little over $2K total for four nights with three days tickets. Now, the way I figure it, I can pay another $600 (roughly) to add dining for us, or pay close to that amount OOP for meals due to this surcharge even though we will not get to experience much of the "holidays at Disney" ! So now my four nights are going to cost me ~$2800 for four, or $700 a person when two are kids in my eyes! Oh yeah, and I"m expected to TIP in top of that! LOL

There was a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth when CRT jacked their prices through the roof year round.

Guess what? It's still full. These restaurants will be, too.

Brian, you are right and hit on the crux of the issue. As long as the masses will pay the prices and demand less, they will continue to offer less for more. Anyone see a trend where there is a backlash? Seems to me, people grumble but still pay. Not saying I like it or agree, but thats the way things are.

DDE is accepted all days for this holiday season except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE and New Years Day.

I'm interested in the prior post that said Chefs de France had holiday pricing. Chefs de France is not a buffet or an all you can eat. (Never mind, reviewing the post I see that is for the 4th of July and was for the holiday itself. I'd expect most if not all the restaurants to increase their prices on the actual holiday.)

I'm curious about 'Ohana, the page on DIS gives a list of the restaurants participating for the holidays and it mentions the 'Ohana breakfast but not the dinner. Anyone heard for sure if the dinner is included or not? Also they list a dinner buffet at YC Galley that I have heard no mention of either.
