Holiday Decoration Crack Down

we don't camp, but it is pretty much a Christmas tradition for us to go over to the fort and ride the bus through to see the decorations.

We had someone in our area who loaded up his yard with decorations His electric bill went from $100.00 to over $2,000.00

Hopefully my Castle show will be ok. Everything is totally on my site.

Dave

I'm sure your Castle Show will be fine. You do keep it totally on your site. It is not gawdy or over the top. It is an elegant, beautiful show and we look forward to seeing you/it this year!

We got this in our welcome packet when we check-in on Tuesday

Thanks stillh2o, they all seem perfectly fine by me.

Thanks for posting the new guideines. Agree with Denise, looks like these guidelines are fine although I'm sure alot of people will be upset with them. It will be interesting to see how many people abide by them and what FW will do if a decorator ignores them.

I can tell you that fort management is hard set on these rules. I was talking to a ranger Saturday. He said that 2 families on Friday was ask to leave because they didn’t follow the new decoration guidelines

There was/is a safety issue. People were rigging the electrical to get more juice. I even hear tell of a fire that was started. You can just imagine with the pine needles how fast The Fort could go poof.

I have always followed these rules, even before I knew they were the rules.
I think that most people do.
There always exceptions though.
I think that there are only a few that these rules affect.
They do not seem very limiting at all for us average decorators.

We have never gone during any holidays and next year we are going for Halloween because what we have seen On this site the last few years , the way the fort was decorated .we are booking a cabin can we decorate the outside of the cabin with lights and our pirate ship inflatable ?

I think the rules are fine and are really "common sense" things that most people have observed all along. It's just a few that got into Tim Taylor mode and had to go bigger and bigger to compete and, while it was interesting to see, created problems.

I'd much rather disney put in the rules (and enforce them) now than let things go on until someone gets hurt or there's a major fire and then they say, "That's it. No more decor of any sort, ever."

:laughing: Tim Taylor, that's a good one!!! Also some of them looked like the Griswald's house; can't think of the name of the movie but ya know what I mean.
