I'm quite sure those of who ordered more than one order will be getting an email shortly telling us that the promotion is good for only one order.

Which is o.k. by me, even though it would sure be nice to actually get a deal from Disney for once. :)

Hey Snoopy...Can they do that? I mean they already have your money. I wish you guys luck..fingers crossed...I agree, it would be nice if for once someone got a Disney deal... Good luck.

Snoops, I agree, I am still waiting for an email telling me it is too good to be true! LOL

glo, where were you yesterday while we were on our Shopping frenzy?? :p

Awwwwwww shucks. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. :p I can still used my card for the Cinderella Wedding Place which will still be a phenominal break.

"All good things must come to an end." :p :o :p

My favorite line from the unofficial guides would be appropriate here:

"...and then some confusion happened."

:teeth:

Those of us who use the reward programs have long figured out not to use promotions that arent intended for us. Disney was giving a "deal" to their customers who had done quite a bit of business with them. All it takes is one person to start passing on a code that was only intended for them (thats why they received the card) and it ruins it for everyone. The same thing used to happen to people that received the postcards for a % off their stays at certain WDW resorts.....only the people with the card were entitled to the deal but others tried to take advantage. Thats why prices on things go up and in the long run will cost you more money. Do you really think Disney can afford to give away $15 worth of merchandise everytime you order? Basically you took advantage of a business you supposedly like.....but consider putting the shoe on the other foot.....what if at your next stay at WDW you were overcharged for something...wouldnt you demand to be given your money back immediately? How do you justify this to yourself and come away with a clear conscious? How do you think the employees of the Disney Store are going to feel when they dont get a payraise because they lost so much money yesterday? And for those with children how do you explain that you took advantage of a mistake another person made with a clear conscious?

I wont be holding my breath waiting for Disney to give anyone any more "deals" in the near future.

Seems people were quite offended yesterday when C. Ann asked what people thought about a child saying OMG. Well I'd rather my child say OMG than to take advantage of someone else's mistake.

Now if you'll excuse me I'll be slipping into my fireproof jacket. ;)

I got a few e-mails saying "thank you for your order".

I also got a code for 10% off my next order :)

 How did I get in on this thread??

Uh oh!! Was it a mistake? Has anyone found out if it is or was? I haven't checked my email yet. I haven't even checked to see if I have confirmation emails. Certainly if it was mistake, I would not feel right benifiting from it, especialy since two purchases I made were gifts. I would do my best to make sure I straightened everything out (but that's just me, just who I am, it has nothing to do with what you said CajunDixie, or nothing to do with what others should do). If it was a mistake, I'm sure Disney will make sure we all know about it and give us a chance to either continue with our purchases or cancel them.

I for one will purchase everything I ordered, discount or not. Oh, except for one thing which I only ordered only because of the discount *gasp* ;) (Monsters, Inc DVD). I have a Holiday Gift card I'll use and when they bundle my orders, I'll get free shipping and handling. :p

Please don't lecture or judge others CajunDixie. Everyone wasn't trying to get over on Disney or cause them hardship. As far as I know, people were just making puchases with a discount code. As far as promotional codes go, Disney gives them out often enough that they know what, when, where, how and why to use them. They've used them enough over the years. If we were not supposed to use the code, I'm sure Disney will let us know.
:D

And yet you got the gist of what CajunDixie was saying irregardless of if the word was correct or not, or didn't you?

there's no such word as "irregardless". you meant "regardless".

disney puts a lot of time and effort into its marketing strategy. they got a lot of people to make purchaes yesterday. they may lose a few $$ because of what happened with the code, but by keeping the customers happy they'll gain in back over the long run.

One entry found for irregardless.

Main Entry: ir·re·gard·less
Pronunciation: "ir-i-'gärd-l&s
Function: adverb
Etymology: probably blend of irrespective and regardless
Date: circa 1912
nonstandard : REGARDLESS
usage Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that "there is no such word." There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.

No, I meant irregardless.;)

And for the record, I didn't get the code. However, if I did, I would've used it-however I would've used it minimally. Not because of guilt, but because I don't want to max out my visa.;)

Oh, I was just WAITING for this kind of thing to happen. Nobody had anything to say yesterday when people were doing it, but now that it's been pulled, people have plenty to say?

I also hope none of the people who usually have so much to say about refillable mugs, 5 in a room, etc, etc, etc, didn't "unfairly take advantage" of this promotion. That would kind of make them hypocrites, wouldn't it? ;)

now everyone...let's play nice...I do not want to have to close my own thread   :p :)

BR, that would be Disney with a capital D. ;)

CajunDixie, no flames, but I disagree. Disney has been doing promotions and marketing for a very long time. When I moderated the Resort Board, the biggest frustration I had was when people shared resort codes from postcards, that were not meant for others. Then I started thinking that a corporation like Disney surely could afford to hire Marketing people who realize the power of the internet and would be able to figure out a promotion that could only be used by those it was intended for. If they haven't figured it out yet.......

And I wouldn't blame something like this for retail CMs not getting a raise. There are LOTS of places blame could be put for that! :)

Just my 2 cents.

Irregardless is a double-negative. It is a one-word grammatical error! The last line of your quote says to use "regardless."

Sorry, one of my biggest grammar/spelling pet peeves.

As for the code, I felt dishonest using it. But, I will leave it up to Disney whether or not they want to honor it, and I won't get mad if they don't.
