CARD SWAP
**Please prepare 4 full cards with corresponding envelope. Make sure to include your real name, DIS name, and group # -- use either a small slip of paper or a post-it. Cards can be stamped, scrapped, or both. Use your imagination!

**Groups of 5 -- you will not receive one of your own back, so if you want one for yourself, make one extra.

**If you want to participate in more than one group but are making the same card (i.e. making 8 of the same card), please let me know so I can group you with different people.

GIFT TAG SWAP
**Prepare 10 gift tags (you will get one of your own back) -- tags should be either double matted or embellished at least twice (stamping, chalking, tearing, distressing, embossing, charms, etc) and have either fibers eyelets in the hole.

SWAP DETAILS
**Deadline to sign up: September 15th

**Deadline to return: November 15th

**Flaker policy: I will wait one week for mail delays and then swap what I have. Please do not overcommit yourself! I will ask you to please PM me or email me your email address and phone # so I have alternate ways to contact you. I will ask you to check in on or around November 1st to make sure we're on track and if I do not hear from you at that time, I will give your spot to an angel.

**Packaging: Send your cards in a large (gallon-size) ziploc baggie for rain protection. I will re-use the baggie for the return trip :)

**Swap Return: I *prefer* a Priority Mail flate rate stamp ($3.85), but if you wish to save on postage, you may send a self-addressed stamped envelope for return mail purposes. The amount of postage on your SASE should be the same amount that it takes to mail to me. To ensure that enough postage will cover the returned swap items, include two additional stamp (23 cents) for additional postage which will be returned if not used. If you are sending a priority mail stamp, you do not need to send me an envelope. If you send me cash, please note that I will not be sending your change back (last time, the change wound up making the package weigh more and I had to add postage, lol).

Any questions... please ask.

Thanks for hosting this!

I would love to try gift tags. These will be scrapped, not stamped, is that okay?

I'll join! I'd like group A,C and E. Thanks!!

Hi! Do the gift tags have to be a certain size or shape? Any other specifics I should know? :cool1:

I would like to be in group D and group E!

Thanks for the cards for my attempt to be an angel! They arrived today.

Susan

Quick question on the gift tags- should we leave room on the front of the tag for a to-from or decorate the entire thing? :confused3

Hello, I'm new to swaps here, so I need to run an idea past you all before I commit. One of my favorite Christmas cards is on navy card stock, with a silver phrase on the inside. Is it safe to assume that since the people we are exchanging with would have access to a silver gel pen?

Thanks,
clh2

Tags should be at least 2x3 (approx). Any smaller and it would hard to embellish, I would think.

I don't know about everyone else, but I am sure they can make do with dark cardstock. We had a couple of dark cards on the last swap too.

Bubbasmom99 - could you sign me up for "B" generic holiday - with a verse group. Also - if you end up having enough interest in another tag group, I would be interested in that too.

Sounds like fun!

I would like to do group C.

oh, this sounds fun!

but now the questions first...i make 4 of the same cards, and send it all to you, right?

and the priority mail stamp...i assume you get that at the post office.

"deadline to return"...is that to send it to you?

i am new to swaps...may i tell you all what i plan to do, and see if this is ok/appropriate for the thing i'm signing up for? (i'm looking at group a...generic holiday, blank inside)

ok...i'll make a card, w/maybe snowman (i love snowmen!!), and maybe tie a ribbon...this is just "off the top of my head" kinda idea...so would something like that be ok? or maybe i'm totally off!! if this is something in the right direction...then, i'm in! thank you! :flower:

Yes, you make 4 cards of the same design. Then you send them to me and I swap them with everyone in your group so you get 1 each of 4 different designs back. I set the groups at 4 because you can cut 4 card-fronts from one sheet of card stock (so it's a nice even #), plus making 4 cards isn't too much of a time commitment (since many of us are in other swaps concurrently).

You can get the $3.85 stamps at the post office or you can send the equivalent in 37 cent and/or 23 cent stamps if you wish.

The deadline to return is the date you have to send to me. I will turn it right around to you within a few days, as long as everyone is on time.

As far as your design, that sounds lovely. Anything within the holiday theme should be fine. That is what is so great about swaps! You get to see things that maybe you wouldn't normally think of doing yourself.
