Holiday cancelled :(

WEll I hv had to cancel our August trip due to relationship breakdown. Soooo upset for my daughter. All adrs still to cancel and dvc
Due to my fear of flying unless I find someone to fly with We won't be able to go full stop. If we did go it would hv to be before 8 th nov as annual pass runs out.
Just flights and dates and cheapest time to go. Have annual passes.
Just wish cld get free dining even if it meant buying a us ticket.Does anyone know how long I would have to book a hotel and ticket package for or even if free dining is on still in the US. Need some help

Sorry I don't know the answers to your questions! Just wanted to give you . I'm so sorry that you're having personal problems and you've had to cancel your trip. Hope that both you and your DD are ok and hopefully you'll be able to sort something out. I'm sure that somebody will be along shortly who will have the answers to your questions!

The only thing I can suggest is, I have a terrible fear of flying and generally visit the GP before I travel and they give me something to calm me down, nothing too strong but just enough for me to make it through check in and actually get on the plane. maybe something like this might ease your fear?

So sorry and hope things turn around quickly for you all.

As for booking free dining on the US site, there's none at the moment but that doesn't mean there won't be any offers later in the year for an October trip.

Unlike the UK, US discounts are offered closer to the date of travel, so you might have to wait a little while, but keep checking the DIS-Boards on these links for latest offers.

Last year the discount package which included free dining for stays between 2nd October 2011 and 17th December became available on the US site on the 3rd August 2011 and expired 29th October.

This information can be found by typing into google search "Historical Information on Walt Disney World Resort Discounts" which will take you to.....

This site list all the discounts over the last 4-years and tells you when they became available and over what period.

I also see you need to cancel your DVC reservation, have you been a member for long? If not and just in case you're not sure please remember that you can cancel up to 30 days prior to your trip without penalty. Those points go back into the user year they came from and can be either used in your current user year or banked into your next user year so long as your banking deadline has not passed and of course they are not banked points from the previous year.

Also, there's very limited availability for October and early November.

I already have diazapam 5mg which doesnt work not even 10mg!!!! never been on a plane on my own and dont think I can physically do it

Thankyou for the info. I looked at dates in oct and agree nothing much except SSR and I am not staying there.OKW and AKL have some availibility and dont mind moving resorts. I banked points January as we joined last november so if I cancel the points for august will I loose the banked points? When do I have to use them by?
Anyway all a mess and put a big dampner on everything.

I was terrified of flying, would still have a panic attack with 5mg Valium, beta blockers and a bottle of wine! It was awful. I did this course (having tried hypnotherapy, CBT and EMDR therapy) and flew ten days ago. I wasn't cured, but I didn't need alcohol and honestly the plane and airport process didn't worry me in the slightest. And honestly, you wouldn't meet anyone more phobic than me!

I can't recommend it highly enough, I flew alone early may and I'm honestly actually starting to enjoy it now.

That's a little difficult to answer without all the info like the month that your user year starts. So, I wouldn't want to mislead or confuse you with examples that aren't relevant.

The best way to understand banking and canceling is to ring up Member Services and ask for some advice.

If you rather not do that or you're still unsure after that phone call and you don't mind placing some of your details on this thread then post some of your contract info, so I or another member can answer.

As you say, you purchased an amount of points last November, were all the points you purchased all within the same user year or were there some banked points from a previous user-year?

So to start with, what month does your user-year begin?

What is the amount of points in your annual contract?

What is the total amount of points you have in this current user-year, (your contact points for this year plus any banked points from the previous user-year)?

I presume you've not already used any of those points and your first reservation would have been in August, were you using all of those points for that reservation?

Have you borrowed any points for that August reservation?

If you rather not post this information on this thread then send me a private message.
