HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES on the Ships

We will be on the 11/23 Magic and hope we see some holiday decorations. This is our first Disney Cruise.
In response to bcmba we have and 11 year old daughter and this is her first cruise. She is hoping to make new friends.
We also have a 10 yo son.
Any advice on how they can get the most out of this cruise would be appreciated.

well looks like they'll be a fair number of 11 year old girls - ours, "prob", and "tgiving cruiser"

As to advice on how to get the most out of the cruise, here's what my daughter said:

go to the kid activities,
go to the pool often
remember to go to the restaurants at night so you don't miss things - she's regretted missing some of the nice meals
and most of all have fun!!

Lauren, my daughter, said pick a smile, so here it is:

We are looking forward to the Christmas decorations on board the Magic the first week of Jan. We sailed that week in 2001 and loved the added atmosphere. Your post says they will be up until Jan 1. Does that mean we will not have the decorations for our cruise? They were taking them down as we disembarked in 2001.

Thanks.

Private,

That's a good idea on the stateroom door hanging decoration...I think I might try your idea! :)

We are bringing "Santa hats" to wear for our Christmas with Mickey pictures - sort of gives a "flavor" to the festivities!

I LOVED the idea of decorating the room and stateroom door.

28 days til our land/sea vacation! I can't wait!

THis is so neat we are cruising the week of Nov 30th and can"t waitl

Liz and Camilo:rolleyes:

Welcome Liz and Camilo! I bet you are also "counting down" the days!

If this is your first cruise, you will LOVE it!
And if this isn't your first cruise, you will LOVE it!

Just remember it's people that make Disney the wonderful place it is!

Happy sailing!
Rae

Thanks for the info. on the Xmas 2003 activities.

My daughter is a bit bummed she will not be home for the first time on Christmas, so this helps alot.

She 12and doesn't believe in the jolly fat man as much but we all believe in the mouse.

Thanks also to Private for the Decorating hint. That will be cool

Can't wait.

Rieann - what a beautiful name! Might I inquire as to the origin?

Rae (actually Rae Ann)

Thanks for your inquiry. I had actually already noticed your beautiful angel.

Rieann is a version of many names of Celtic origin. Rieann's father is of Scottish origin, I am Irish, but Rieann actually has mostly Welsh origins.

I also noticed your inscription about Organ donation. One of my best friend's wife is the transplant coordinator at Washington Hospital Center here in DC. At their wedding the ceremony was performed by a minister who was born blind and my friends wife had arranged his corneal transplant. The minisiter opened the ceremony with "No one knows how happy I am to SEE this marriage." There wasn't a dry eye in the house efter that.

To anyone who reads this:

Please don't take your organs to heaven, God knows we need them here!

Jim

Thanks for sharing the origin of Rieann's name and the story about the corneal transplant. It's amazing how we can give someone such a precious gift that our loved one leaves behind.

Rae
