I just bought my first car a couple weeks ago and woke up this morning to a VERY flat tire. So I put on my emergency lights and sloooooowly drove it to the nearest garage. At first they told me the stem needed to be replaced so I payed the $12.00 and about to leave merrily on my way until they took the tire off and discovered a big piece of medal had punctured the tire and so they would have to patch it up, in all it cost me over a $100.00 :earseek: I knew buying the car it would need repairs from time to time but hadn't anticipated anything like this happening so soon.
Bah! I just needed to vent, thanks :)

$100 bucks  you could have bought a new tire for that price

A tire patch should cost $12, not $100. If you're talking Canadian, I'm talking U.S.

Sorry guys, I made a mistake. I just looked at my statement, they did actually replace the tire. Though I just spoke with my dad whom I should have phoned prior to this and he said the tires are only a year old and could have been under warantee *smacks forehead*!

you are lucky you didn't ruin the wheel by driving on it, that could have been even more costly..

Mickey88, that's what my dad said. I'm so new to cars that I had no idea, my mom was the one who advised I drive it over slowly to the garage which is 5 mintues away. Should have had it towed.
