Holding points question

The contract that I just purchased has 16 points in holding status that need to be used by Sep. 2014. I am closing on 4/14. What are my options with these points? Or I they just a loss? Can U move them to book something through RCI?

Transfer them to another owner, make a reservation and rent that reservation with no changes allowed, or make a reservation for a family member/friend and extend their trip by a day or so.
