Holding points question?

Quick question on holding points... I have points in holding and I will be booking in May. What IF I need to cancel again do these go back until holding.. are you allowed to cancel a holding ressie and what are the rules can you cancel 30 days out 7 days out...

I am just curious as to the rules. These are my first holding points in 10 years DVC and I am sure I will be keeping my ressie if I can get it for May... however it got me to thinking about what are the rules with a reservation that is holding points ???

I would like to know in case I have to pick a split stay because of availability and then can I cancel if the one or the other come available or am I locked in since they are holding and you can't cancel???

Points in holding, stay in holding if you cancel. The system knows the prior status of all points used for that reservation and if you cancel, all points return to that status.

If you also used points that were not in holding, the normal cancellation policy applies. Cancel less than 31 days from arrival and those points will go into holding. Cancel day of arrival and all points are forfeited.
