Holding off on a BLT add-on, waiting for more enticing incentives?

We added on at BLT immediately when it was announced. We were planning on another add on now.....which we've begun paperwork on. However, we don't "need" the xtra pts. for the add on now. We've already got matching dev. pts. on the first purchase and can't use additional ones by Oct. 3. Also, the cruise incentive is poor (to us) b/c of the dates the cruises are offered. SO, we're thinking of waiting on our additional add on. Anyone else feeling the same way?

We just changed from deveoper points @ AVK to Cruise w/ BLT. I think we drove our guide crazy doing this... We did this because we were planing a cruise for next year anyway. We had to pay more per point, but 9 years of lower MF's will make that up. I don't know what other incentives they could come up with. What have they done in the past?

What about matching pts. to use at your home resort withing the first year?
Or dev. pts. at SSR that DON'T expire Oct. 3?
Or (I believe) they've offered "x" amt. of nights at any 1BR
Etc., etc.....

Maybe it's just me, but the cruise incentive is not appealing given the Jan. Feb. and hurricane season offering only AND we can't use anymore dev. pts. expiring Oct.3.

I guess that's why they try different incentives. I'm sure they try to feel people out on what will push them over the edge to buy....

You can try renting a reservation using your developer points. It requires a little work, but better than letting them expire.

I believe that there will be better incentives coming from Disney.

Did you hear a rumor?? :hyper:

With that thought in mind, we're going to hold off on adding until (if/when) those better incentives come along.

We're happy we're founding members. We have enough pts. for now. We'll add on at a later date. (maybe)

No, I did not hear a rumor. I did see that profits were down 32% for the first quarter at Disney. The second quarter is not going to be any better.

Heard Mr. Iger on CNBC last night. Bolt really let them at the box office! And no one is buying DVD's. :rotfl:

I don't think park attendance and resort capacity took as big of a hit as the ad revenue at the networks.

I took a glance at a report and I think for the quarter reported resorts were running at 80% capacity.

Bolt! Thats too bad because I for one enjoyed the movie alot and I am 41!!! ... and am disappointed to hear that the movie is not doing as well as hoped.... I thought the story was good and the animation was good as always...

As for the rest of the family and friends who I know of that have seen Bolt, always heard good comments.

Add us to the list of those waiting for a better deal!

We fully intend another 100 pts (maybe 125 due to new allocation) but are waiting until we need them (ie. I run out of previously banked points) or a better incentive pops up.

I don't think it can hurt to wait until you need the points. I'm anticipating that there will be another price increase before they start selling Hawaii next year...

I'm certain this is the way we're going to proceed (or not proceed) right now as well.

BLT is selling, but certainly not "like hotcakes". The economy is bad. We can borrow pts. for now. It's practical for us to hold off. They're just "not much " as far as incentives go.
