Does anyone else find themselves as of late holding their breath when they open the Dis? I feel like every time I open the website and forums there's some more crazy news, price increase, ride closure, etc.

I just feel like the changes are happening overwhelmingly fast!

Anyone? Anyone? Buehler? Buehler? ;)

Agree. I've been a Disney-goer for decades and a follower of all info regarding Disney (aka disboards reader) since 2003 and I don't recall a time when announcements about various rate increases and announcements (or speculation) about the start of extra-fee add-ons (some of which were previously free) coming at such a rate!

Somewhat put-off by the greedy face Disney is painting for itself, even my hard-core WDW fan DD15 is considering "trying out" Universal....something that up until now she flatly refused, referring to Universal as "the dark side". LOL

I'd be pushing for my family to go to Universal except my parents are older now and can't do thrill rides (not that they ever did... :) ) which knocks out a good chunk of Universal's rides.

Once DD15 tries Universal she may not want to go back to WDW or at least split the time in Orlando. Mine do, which is fine with us.

I've been wanting to try it for years but the rest of the family resists. We stay onsite lately, so they just wanna do Disney. But now my brother and sis-in-law have an Orlando area timeshare so we can stay with them for free! So I've been pestering some of the fam to take a quick trip and skip WDW in favor of an all-Universal trip. I think it may happen in 2017!

DS12 tried Universal last couple of trips and wanted to return for the rides. They are more exciting for him and I like their FOL system a lot better than current FP+ at Disney. We are sticking with Disney this year since we have APs but next trip might be just Universal.

Couldn't have said it better. I have a WDW vacation coming up in less than a month. I've been away from the Boards for about 10 or so day as a result of work and this morning I was simultaneously afraid to look at the Boards and afraid not to.

That's what we started doing. About 2 trips to Universal for every one to WDW. Universal only takes a couple of full days and it's less expensive. Plus the onsite hotels are nicer.

You know, I can roll with most of it, but I've only recently been VERY disturbed by a rumor that I won't perpetuate here. It may be complete nonsense and not gonna happen, but if it does I'm gonna cry.

I agree, and the worry has started to build for me. But keep in mind the ticket price increases cannot honestly be a surprise to anyone, prices have gone up annually Year over Year for a while now, and although the tiered system is new it won't make a drastic change in cost. The possibility of the little costs adding up for things that used to be free is what worries me (has a very greedy feel too it). Granted all that is happening now is surveys about the potential of such associated changes, and so hopefully the outcome of those surveys will prevent any of it from happening.

So I have been a loyal WDW visitor my entire life. I visited probably 20 or more times as a child and have taken my children once every year for the last 12 years. We stay at deluxe hotels, go to parties or events if we want and eat wherever we want, so we are no strangers to spending money at WDW. But the last year and especially the last week has been very disheartening to me. I feel like Disney just becoming very greedy. I don't mind spending significant amounts of money there, but I think it is getting ridiculous and I think I'm the kind of person they are marketing all of these "paid extra's" to. We will not be planning another trip, I have reached my limit. Time to try new things.

Ddc you post on the rumors board? That's okay to do.
