holding account

I have points in a holding account. My brother is also DVC and has a trip booked on his points in a couple of months. Once I'm within my 60 day window, can I transfer those point to him to use for his stay?

I don't think holding points can be transferred. What you can do is call at the 60 day mark, and book a reservation on your points under his name, if something is available. Then (assuming he is in his banking window) he can cancel his reservatoin and bank his points.

That was going to be our backup plan, but I'm not hopeful for him to get into Vero Beach for a June stay as late as April. He already had to settle for a standard view booking this far out.

Are you sure they can't be transferred? I thought Dean posted one time that they can be transferred but they stay "holding" points. But my memory is not as good as it used to be, so you may be right.
Even if they could be transferred the point reallocation probably would not be allowed if there is not availability. I have been lucky enough to have points reallocated but it was for a reservation at my home resort and the point reallocation was banked points for current use year points, no holding points involved.

I'm not sure. It may very well be that they can be transferred, but retain their holding status, meaning that the BIL still could not use them at 60 days if there is no availability.
