HOJO's or BWPPI???

Next trip I'll not be able to stay at PPH
soooooo I need your input: How's the noise level and cleanliness level. Are they friendly??? But most important...which has the cuter staff???(Just kidding)

We stayed at HoJo's in August and LOVED IT. We'd stay there again in a heart beat if we were unable to stay onsite.

Our room was a theme park view and was VERY spacious. The staff was extremely helpful when we decided last minute to try and add another night onto our stay.

PS - While I have heard that some do not like the walk due to distance, we did not have a problem with this at all. We had our 8 y/o and 3 y/o, though the 3 y/o was in a stroller.

We have stayed at the BWPPI several years ago. It was clean and had frig and microwave. The pool was very small. I have not stayed at HOJO's but everything I read here sounds like it is very nice. BWPPI is directly across the street from the main entrance, if that is a consideration. We are staying at the BWPPI in less than a month. Will be able to post more info after that.

I haven't stayed at BWPPI yet (will remedy that in three months) but based on my research, BWPPI wins for location/ closeness to Disney and has a free breakfast. The Hojo wins for pool, it has two actually, and grounds, which are lovely. The Hojo doesn't have a free breakfast and the walk is further up Harbor. Mimi's is right next door to the Hojo, its a great place to eat, with a nice atmosphere and huge portions of food. IHOP and Denny's are closer to BWPPI and it also has Captain Kidds which seldom gets good reviews. Mimi's would only be about a five minute walk from BWPPI. The Hojo had nice oversized rooms, BWPPI seem a bit small from the pictures I have seen. I think if you like to spend a lot of time at your hotel and don't mind the extra walk, the Hojo would be great. It the most like a resort/hotel there on Harbor and many of the rooms have balconies. But that location of the BWPPI is hard to beat which is why I chose it. Good luck!

HoJo has great rooms, we had top floor with high ceilings and park view. There was a balcony and fridge. The pool is great. Mimi's next door was wonderful, great prices and food was super. The walk was not too much, but when tired, it just seemed a bit more than those right on the walkway from DL.

I have never stayed at BWPPI, but right nearby was Carousel Inn. We liked this for the quick walk, and did not worry about food, had Disneyland dining on the mind!

If you are going for location BWPPI wins. Its as close as you can get without staying at the GC. 5 minutes from room to maingate when we stayed there in December.

Staff was pleasant, room was clean and big enough for six of us (3 adults,1 teenager,2 kids). Had a microwave and fridge.

The breakfast was good, nothing fancy but worked for us. Cereal, oatmeal, donuts, boiled eggs, pastries, toast, milk, juice and coffee (I think). You can also get pancakes from the resturant (it gets bad reviews but we had no problem with it).

The pool is nothing fancy but it was nice to take a dip mid-day when the parks were crowded.

I have never stayed at HoJo's but I have heard the grounds are wonderful so if you spend a lot of time at your hotel it might be a better choice.

BWPPI:

Closest hotel - 5 minute walk
Clean
Decent rooms
Small pool
It was very quiet when we were there

HOJOs:

An extra 5-7 minute walking time over BWPPI
Nicer rooms
Nicer feeling
Nicer, larger pools
Can get rooms with a DLR view
Some rooms are noisier because of how close they are to I-5

We just got back from Hojo's and loved it. I was a little worried about the walk, but to be honest it was not as bad as some make it. I actually enjoyed the walk after being on Main Street in Disneyland with so many people trying to leave the park. The walk back to Hojo's had very few people so it was a refreshing break from all of the people in Disneyland.

There are a few restaurants on the way back to Hojo's also so we would stop at one of them for dinner and then continue on to our hotel.

The grounds were fantastic as was the room. We had a Disney view room and a great view of the fireworks. We were able to watch the fireworks from the balcony on our first night there. We could even hear the music, although not as well as in the park.

The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. We asked where the nearest grocery store was and they handed us a map with directions.

I think you may even find a few "cute" staff member.

Thank you for that thoughtful response! I am aching to go back to DL ever since my trip in December. I'm not planning to go again until next January and it is too soon to start "really" planning, however at this point in time my research indicates that I can find a better deal at HOJO's and if they might have "cute" staff........well that'll really swing it!!!
