HoJo's Garden Pool Temperature

We stayed in Building 2 at HoJo's last September and swam in the garden pool every afternoon. Although the pool is supposed to be heated, it always seemed really cool to me. I realize that a comfortable pool water temperature is individual to a certain degree, but I'd really like to hear the opinions on the water temperature of the garden pool from anyone that's stayed there recently. We leave in 19 days and a few odd hours and are so excited! We are lovers of Disneyland but also lovers of water, so any and all input is greatly appreciated!

We just returned last week from a HoJo stay and the pool water is still too cold for me. This was our 5th time there and we've always said that about the pool. I am all for a refreshing swim, but even with the temps in the 80s it was too cold in the late afternoon (3-4) once the sun was past the pool & it became shady.

This was what I was afraid of but it's nice to hear the cold hard truth. DH says maybe we can float our drinks in the pool to keep them cool. Hopefully, Lorealle is reading and can turn up the termperature a few degrees before we arrive.

That's disappointing, wonder why I haven't heard this before. We had the same issue with the Polynesian in WDW. It was so cold that the kids could not stand it, and its one reason we would never stay there again. I hope this won't be the same issue with HOJO, the pool is a real drawcard for us.

Well I don't usually swim so it's a non issue for me but my girls have never complained about it or been shivering when they got out.

We just got back from there and the hotel info says it is 80. We never went in but they did fill it witht he hose every morning! Any adult leaving it said it was freezing and headed for the hot tub!

This perfectly describes how I fondly remember the garden pool.

We didn't use the garden pool-- just hung out in the hot tub while DD played in the Castaway Cove water play park. !

From the responses I've received so far, it sounds like the hot tub is the place to be!

80 degrees is not warm enough. I think Disney heats there's to 84 and that's barely tolerable for me.

We play in the pirate splash area, sit in the baby pool, and sit in the hot tub at Hojo's. It's not even worth our energy to walk to the garden pool. Brrrrr!

This is a bit disappointing actually, the kids really look forward to the pools when we travel. would hate them not being able to swim for the whole 9 days we are at HOJO.

I agree Marvel! we head off to HoJo in 3 sleeps and was looking forward to the pool but remember our last visit in June 2007 at Tropicanna where the pool temperature was freezing. Thought HoJo's pools were heated and was looking forward to a dip but sounds like the hot tub will be the only place I'll be getting wet after a long Disney day.

Is there a hot tub right near the garden pool or do you have to go over by the pirate area? Hubby and I have no kids and would love a hot tub that is "quiet" and not so full of little pirates!!!

Nope, only one hot tub at the HoJo.

We were there last week and it was way too cold for me. I soaked my feet everynight and that felt great but when I tried to get in, I didn't make it past my knees, lol.

The hot tub was SUPER crowded at night and we avoided that as well. My kids played in Pirates Cove the 1st day when it was barely 70 degrees out and the rest of the week when it was in the 90s!

They do maintain the pools very well. We had a pool view from our room (garden pool) and they had maintenance out there every morning cleaning, checking the chemical levels, etc.

this makes me sad. We will be there in 3 weeks and were hoping to let the kids swim. They love it One more reason I wish I had switched to the DLH. Oh well If it is true that it's too cold this will be our one and only stay at the hojo.

Hope everyone reports back, it's funny that I hadn't read anyone else mentioning this ever in previous posts. Personally the pool is a big draw card for which I am willing to pay more for, even to the point of changing hotels. Hope it will be ok.

Hubby and son didn't complain last year. They really enjoyed their hour or two swimming.

Maybe those who really move around are better off b/c they are warming themselves, but if you just step in, you're only experiencing the cold. After all, they'd have to heat it to nearly 100 to feel as warm as most of us are...

Which is what my brother has to do, has to hit the mid-90s, for his wife (or me, when I'm being honest) to be happy in their pool. But my brother swims for fitness, so when it's warm enough for non-swimmers to be happy, he can't get in it, swimming in it would harm him.
