Can someone please give me the Hojo's 101?
We have never stayed there before and hear it's great!

What build do you like?
How many are there?
Do we have to have the kids suite?

Thanks so much everyone:)

We stayed there last November. We had only 4 kids then. Ages 13,12,5,3.
We stayed in one room on the top floor with premium disney view and skylight windows. We brought an air matress for one child and there was a place for it by the patio. It was not in the way at all. The rooms were spaciousand the beds were comfortable. The pirate themed pool was great too. We have never stayed offsite before this experience. If we had to stay offsite again we would stay here. Just know that it is a little bit of a walk.

HoJo has 6 buildings. Buildings 1 and 2 are their "tower buildings" Bldg. 1 is a 7 story building with 2 elevators. It provides a premium theme park view on one side, and a freeway view on the other. The new kids suites are in this building and are only on the freeway side. I have experienced freeway noise in this building from a premium Disney view room and have learned to request a room closest to the elevator in order to avoid that noise.

Bldg. 2 is a 4 story building and has one elevator. The rooms in this building are mostly in the queen/queen deluxe category. They all have the new pillowtop mattresses a fridge and a microwave. I prefer this building as I have never experienced freeway noise here and I like the new beds and micro.

Bldgs. 3-6 are the pavillion buildings. They are 2 story buildings with no elevator. Every room on the 2nd floor has elevated ceilings and large skylights which make the rooms seem even larger than they already are. The rooms mostly consist of the standard double/double rooms. They have 2 oversized double beds, and a fridge (no micro). I have never heard complaints of freeway noise in any of these buildings.

What else do you want to know?

Thank you!!! We have bldg. 2 and I think we will be happy there for our first visit.

P.S.
I love your pictures!

We love the pavilion bldgs but prefer bldgs 4 & 6, we were in bldg 3 last time and it was very loud, I could clearly hear the freeway. Our second favorite is bldg 2. HoJo is a great hotel, the staff rocks and the rooms are great, the walk is not that bad unless it's late and you've been walking all day. Then you might regret it, but overall the HoJo is the best off site hotel for our family, it's the one we always try to stay in first. :)

How do you know which building you're in? Was it assigned when I made my reservation, or will they tell me closer to check-in date? I'll be there the first week of September.

How long would you guess it takes to walk from HoJo to say the area between the two park entrances? Thanks!

Edit: If we're really tired, is there a shuttle or is walking the only option?

It's approx. 10 minutes, depending on your stride/speed. The HoJo has a video on youtube that actually shows them taking the walk and timing it at 8 minutes.

The ART shuttle services the HoJo if you feel like you can't handle the walk.

Thanks, that's a great video! I have a job related to the hotel industry and it's neat to see what hotels are doing with social media like YouTube.

Oh, and 10 minutes doesn't sound too bad but I'm glad the shuttle is available as an option.

I made the reservation on line. It took me TWO weeks to get the dates I wanted!! It was 6 am and there they were!! It told me building 3 at first, then I added AAA rate and it switch the building.

I also called later that morning to confirm things.

Thanks again everyone!! You all rock:cool1:

Yes, it takes us about 8 minutes to walk it on the way to the parks, on the way back to the room it takes more like 10-12 minutes. lol And yes, you can take ART but we never have, we just walk if we are at the HoJo. There are also taxis out in the front of the parks but again, we just walk it. :)

We know what bldg we will be in because we book the Ent Rate and how much you pay determines your bldg.

That is the best and clearest explanation of the different buildings evah! Thank you!
