We are trying to figure out where to stay. We can get a good deal for Hojo- almost 1/2 the price of the Marriott but I don't mind spending the extra $$ if the Marriott is a lot better. We are Marriott card holders so we may also get an upgrade. What do you think? DO these 2 even compare?
Thanks!

We have stayed at both. The Hojo is better, but with a child I hate crossing that street infront of Hojo to get across to the area where fairfield is to start the walk to DL , Cars just don't look and they go very quickly.

We stayed at HOJO and it was great, crossing the street was fine if you just walk a few feet up to the light, the people trying to cross over to the other parking lots are the ones that had traffic problems, but if you go to the light you are fine. The rooms we really big and the service great. (I also liked the gift shop food and gifts....)

I have stayed at both several times...Fairfield was my stay of choice until I stayed at the Hojo. I never went back. The rooms are nicer, beds more comfortable and the pool area is simple fantastic in comparison. I also find the service at Hojo much better.

Hojo's is worth every penney!
Comfy beds, decor is pleasant, fun spray pool for the little guys and a decent sized hot tub for grown ups.
Service is OUTSTANDING! They really make an effort for Disney fans to have an enjoyable stay.

I've stayed at the Fairfield once, was not impressed. Pool is located in parking lot, open exterior hallways. We were facing towards pool/large parking lot on an upper level and found the doors difficult to open due to wind. Had nosiy drafts coming in under door (placed a towel along threshold and that helped.)
Rooms seemed very dark, low lighting and generally depressing.

It is closer to the park, room was clean, and staff were pleasant.

But I still like HoJo's a lot more

Haven't stayed at Fairfield, but we loved HoJo's! We got a crazy good rate for $30/night in Sept. through Delta when we booked our airfare so we gave it a try on our first trip to DL even though we had planned to stay at DLH. It wasn't "posh" but it had nice rooms that were spacious w/ a fridge, we had a nice view of the quiet pool, and walking to the parks was just great!
