Planning our first visit to DLR in early March. I have read many great things about both places. If anyone has pros and cons for these two places, your help would be greatly appreciated. The prices we have been quoted are pretty similiar. Thanks!

We have stayed at both and like them both. CCI offers a dedicated shuttle and free breakfast. HOJOs offers Entertainment Card discounts and slightly larger rooms. Both are about the same distance walking. You really can't go wrong with either place.

If the Ent Rate is not available at the HoJo we like the CCI. They have a good breakfast and a free shuttle. That free shuttle rocks at the end of the day. :)

I agree with Pixiewings. If the Entertainment rate is available for Hojos - go there. If the price is about the same go with CCI. Love the free breakfast and dedicated shuttle. Great staff.

Do you have kids? The pirate themed water area is really fun for the younger set. It was a huge plus for us.

Thanks everyone for the info. There will be four adults in our party. The best rates I have found so far is about the same price for both places.

Are the four adults sleeping in one room?

The CCI rooms are on the small side but the beds are super comfy. It is nice to have the free breakfast and shuttle too.

If good pools are to your liking then Hojo's is the place to go. If a free breakfast is what you are looking for then the Candy Cane Inn. Either way you can't lose, as they are both excellent hotels and are worth their rates. I'm partial to Hojo's as I've got small kids and they love the pirate play area.

I love to hear more,we are going at CCI there in late June to the 3rd of July. We decided on CCI over Hojo so love to hear more:cool1:

This is interesting thread. We've got reservations at the HoJos right now but I keep going back and forth on what I should do. We've only been to DL once before and stayed at the Candy Cane. We liked it and thought we would return but when I checked prices for our trip they were about $25/night more than the HoJos and we need 2 rooms so that really adds up. Since then their rate has dropped and is now almost identical to what we booked at the HoJos.

The HoJos has the better pool area, balconies, and interior corridors. The Candy Cane has breakfast and the shuttle. I still am not sure which would be better for us.

My 21 year old son and his fiance are going to be sharing a room with us. I know it is going to be somewhat tight at either place, but we don't plan to do much more than sleep in our room. I am looking for a clean, modern, quiet room with comfortable beds that is close to DLR. I think we are starting to lean towards CandyCane for the breakfast and shuttle. Is there a big difference between the standard double queen room and the premium double queen room other than a few more amenities? Thanks guys for all the advice. You are wonderful.

The last time I was at CCI they had standard, deluxe and premium rooms. The deluxe were bigger than the standard and we appreciated the extra space, especially in the closet. In a standard room our suitcases were next to the bed by the wall. In a deluxe there was room in the closet and extra room at the foot of the bed. We thought it was worth it.

We had friends in a premium room and they enjoyed the extra amenities. I personally had no problem getting my own breakfast for our family and brought it back to the room. They really enjoyed having exactly what they wanted delivered, with no chance of running out of blueberry muffins:thumbsup2 They said there soaps and such were nicer and they had a welcome basket( I think) but never even used the dvd player , or was it vcr, in their room. The room size was the same as ours though.

We were happiest in a deluxe and they were with the premium room. I guess it's a preference thing but with 4 adults I personaly would get a deluxe for the space.

To me the best thing about CCI is that it's on the same side of the road as DLR. I'll never forget that dash of death actross Harbor..I guess it's better now than it was 20 years ago though.

Hi Guys!
Thank you all for the wonderful comments and suggestions. I just booked the Candy Cane Inn premium double queen room on the ground floor. The reservationist I spoke to on the phone was very polite and helpful. :woohoo:
