HoJo tips anyone?

Just returned from a 3 night stay at HOJO. :)

Wow, I am so impressed with HOJO. This is one resort I would pay full price to stay. (getting the entertainment rate was nice to). The front desk staff was marvelous. I had to have some medical supplies delivered to HOJO. They had the boxes sitting on a cart ready to be delivered to our room as soon as we checked in.

Our room was in building 3. The room was quit large with a refrigerator. One thing that is nice is they use throw away hot and cold cups. I worry about glass cups being properly cleaned. I did not book a room with a microwave --my mistake-- but once the staff found out I needed a microwave for medical reasons they had one delivered with in 15 mins.

The grounds are well groomed. I never saw anyone doing grounds cleaning-- they must be like DL -- they clean and primp while we are sleeping :).

We only heard the construction of the new pool area once, and that was well after 9 am. I did hear the patter of little feet in the room above us but it was not bad at all.

Our room was CLEAN ,CLEAN,CLEAN. I am so impressed with how clean our room was. Bathroom was spotless. I LOVED LOVE LOVED our bed. It was one of the new ones, so comfy. They use a bottom sheet, then a top sheet, the comforter, then another sheet. I forget what this is called but it is sure nice to have.

We ate at mimis most of meals. It is right next door. Prices are moderate and the food was good. Service was very good. I did not notice if there was a childrens menu, but would think there was.

The walk from HOJO to disneyland was compareable with walking from CCI or PP to Disneyland. I did ride the ART as much as possible RE: health issues.
The ART seemed to run every 20 mins give or take. It was route 7 --- there are two route 7 so check to make sure the one at Disneyland stops at HOJO.

The ART route 7 goes right by the Cheesecake Factory. So you could pick up the ART at Disney -- eat at Cheesecake Factory -- catch the 7 again and it would take you to HOJO. Yeah for no transfers. NOTE: You can only purchase the ART passes from the hotels-- the drivers so not sell. (Pass for a day is 3 dollars which is the same as a one way trip-- so get pass for sure.)

I want to again say how the staff at HOJO is the best. Husband needs distilled water for his breathing machine-- He went over the hyway to try to fine a store that sold it but could not find any. He asked the desk where he might find some-- but instead of telling him the staff went to traget and brought him the distilled water. That is service above and beyond. I left some of my husbands clothes --not realizing until I was at the airport. I called and housekeeping had already taken to front desk. :) They are going to send to me. Again over and beyond.

I can only say what a wonderful experience we had at HOJO.

Thank you so much for all of the amazing feedback, everyone! :goodvibes

I will definitely pass all of the information along to our General and Front Desk Managers so that we can better learn where we're doing well and keep up the good work, and find out where we have room for improvement and get started on it! :thumbsup2

It's come to my attention recently that sometimes, my email is not working the way that it should! I'm so sorry to everyone who's not gotten a response from me, or who has had to email a couple of times! It's my goal to make sure that I respond within 48 hours of receiving an email- if not sooner- and I'm very sorry that not everyone who's emailed me has found that to be the case.

You can always PM here, or on our HoJo Message Boards- and if you are not getting a response at Lorealle.Bishop@hojoanaheim.com, you can also try Stay@hojoanaheim.com. I'm not sure if it's a volume issue, or if they are just getting lost in space- but I just wanted to apologize again, and make sure that you know that you have some different options when it comes to getting in contact with me.

Thank you- all of you- so much for your support! :goodvibes

Thanks Lorealle,

I guess my first email just got lost somewhere in cyberspace. I am looking forward to our stay in August:thumbsup2

We'll be visiting for the second time in February and can't wait! We were in building 4 last time, which I loved, but this time we'll be in a view room. We are early risers and are back in the room early as well, so I can't wait to see the view of the fireworks!

We stayed at HOJO for 9 nights mid May and LOVED it! I honestly don't think we will ever stay anywhere else! Why try to fix it if it ain't broken! We had a premium disney view and LOVED it! Not noisy at all. I mean we could hear the park music and all, but that was expected and LOVED!

The staff was GREAT and it all started her with Lorealle! Once we got there they were just always so nice! I can't say we saw much of them because there wasn't really a need, but when we did they were more then accomodating. My mother's room didn't have 2 sinks like ours and they happily changed her. She LOVED the beds (as did we) and the manager, Andrew, looked up exactly what kind it was for her.

The pool was closed (new pirate one) but I never once heard noise or saw them working on it. It would have been nice to have it open, but honestly probably made for a quieter more pleasant trip.

Gift shop was nice and ladies so helpful, so clean, like others said, never saw anyone working on it either.

I cannot say enough about it! We LOVED it! We had the entertainment rate but I would gladly pay regular price to stay again. We thoroughly enjoyed our 9 days and I had no worries of bugs or dirt or anything, all slept well, etc.

And it was so close to walk! I thought it would be alot farther!

dang almost makes me want to go there instead wher ei am lol but hay next time maybe. I will defenitly recomend it if my parents want a diffrent place then us hehe i have heard nothing but good about hojos have fun.

Well, jessica52877, what is the brand and style of the beds???? I'd love to get a "heavenly bed", but buying through Westin involves throwing wads of cash at them, and I know the new HoJo beds are the same kind (not in our room, seems our room wasn't updated yet but that was OK, it was still a comfy sleep). Do tell!

Just above on post #20, it links you to the website with the pics.

Duh...thanks.
I saw it just before I read your post as I was scrolling down.
The thumbnail was so small I didn't see it the first time.

Yay! I think it looks comparable to the Disneyland Hotel rooms. And probably closer than that schlep thru DTD.
Yes, there is the monorail but not the year I stayed there..but now we have the Finding Nemo Subs so I can't complain.

Well, I reserved a room for July using the Mousesavers discount code. I needed 2 rooms and picked rooms that faced DL. My question is... the email confirmation makes no note of facing DL. It has the price I'm going to pay but nothing else. So... did I just get hoodwinked into paying a higher price for a room without a view?

Also wondering how hard it is to change one of the rooms from a 2 Queens to 1 King. It's probably not crucial for the one couple.... but might be nice for them.

Pxlbarrel: Call the Hojo directly about your view room. I also reserved a view room online but my confirmation didn't note that. So I called and she did verify that my room is facing DL. They can also tell you if you can switch to a King room as well. You could also email Lorealle, her email is somewhere back on this thread I think. She has been invaluable to me in helping me with my reservation and getting me a better Ent code on a few of my nights.

The garden pool is actually quit large as is the pool deck. There were plenty of lounge chairs in the pool area. I did not notice the pool being over crowed, but again it is a large pool. It is a lovely resort. Have fun.

For those of you who just stayed, with the main pool closed, was the garden pool crowded? TIA. :)

Yes, the main pool was closed. I believe it's supposed to reopen at the end of July? We actually didn't even see the garden pool, most days there was a breeze and wasn't all that warm when we were there. Thankfully it was nice and warm on Friday our last day, when we stayed at the DLH. So we swam a lot there.

Thanks. We'll be there next week and I hope we can do our midday break at the pool. :)
