I saw this on the area for Retro Rates:

Update:
Due to the high demand of our Retro Rates we have implemented a non cancelable policy on these reservations to prevent making multiple tentative reservations.

Retro Discount room reservations are charged at checkout.
RD reservations cancelled prior to the arrival date will be charged 1 night's charge.
If you add or subtract nights from a reservation (changes) we will not charge a fee.
Mixed rate reservations will revert to the standard 48 hour cancellation policy
Additional RD days may be added as they become available.

Is this new?

I was caught sleeping and missed the retro rate for a trip I want to take in November. I am hoping that this means some rooms/dates will open up. Folks with experience on HoJo's Entertainment Rate - any chance I'll get lucky? I'm looking for November 14-18.

I really need some pixiedust: We are trying to get in a visit to the parks before our Thanksgiving cruise...dd should finally hit the 40" mark for the fun rides :goodvibes

This is not new, I don't recall when but maybe 6-9 months ago it was put into effect.

I feel the ent rate is mostly a ploy. I'm guessing now that Hojo only books a few rooms at that rate. When they have last minute rooms left they have shown to open them up to the ent rate. No longer are there often cancellations making the rooms available again.

This went into effect over a year ago. The best thing to do is to call them and see if there are any days open during the time you want to go. It is also possible to see if there are days available online but it is really complicated. If you search for a group of dates and only a couple of them have retro rates available, the online reservation system will tell you that there are no retro rates available. You have to go in and search each day to see if there are retro together and then you have to call and make the reservation through the Anaheim HOJO anyway so you might as well call them and see if there are any available.

I called HoJo's yesterday and they only had one date - April 8 - that was at the Ent rate for the entire year. However, the person I spoke to said that the Ent rate pops up a lot and to just keep checking back.

FYI, in house reservations closes at 3pm on Saturday and closed all day on Sunday.

I have the Retro rate for October and it is completely cancelable up to 30 days ahead. They changed the policy again a while back. There was info here somewhere about it.

Hi everyone! If you speak to our in-house reservations team, they can give you a 30 day cancelation policy, instead of the non-cancelable one. So, if you see retro date become available go ahead a book a room. Once the dates are taken from our website we can no longer book rooms at the retro rate; they may become available again, but there is no guarantee on that. Keep checking our website to see is dates become available, remember they can change without notice, so just keep watching.:surfweb:

Hope this helps!
