Has anyone stayed at the HOJO and used the pool and play area around thankgiving and first week of December? Is it warm? I know they heat it but do they HEAT it or are you scrambling for warmth in the hot tub?

The latter. It's heated, but only to 80 degrees, which can feel quite cold.

We went a few years ago during the week after Thanksgiving, and the weather was quite warm. DGD went swimming several days in a row. OTOH, we went last year a couple weeks before Thanksgiving, and it was quite cold out. DGD still wanted to use the pool, and we even let her in once, for 15 minutes. But she was blue by the time we got her back to the room, and we wouldn't let her go again. So weather is quite variable at that time of year. You may be able to use the pool, but you may not.

We were there at that time in 2010. Just like GrandBob said...the pool IS heated but to 80degrees so it can feel a little cool (to me anyways). However my kids swam every time they could & my hubby went in with them. He said it was just fine. I did not go in. The weather was hit & miss throughout our trip. Had cool temps with rain on some days (didn`t go to the pool then) but warm & sunny on others. :thumbsup2

More of the same....During a given week that time of year you can have a couple 80 degree days a couple 70's a 60 and even upper 50's, truly hit or miss...id bet at least one day would be warm enough for a dip..

It's hard to keep my kids out of the pool - even when the weather is cool. We were at HoJo during the first week of Dec. a few years ago and the weather was in the high 60's. They would go in the pool and it was warmish, but they were done within 20-30 minutes and then that nice hot shower felt really good! :thumbsup2 We were coming from weather in the 30's at that time, so the high 60's did feel really nice.

I can't answer for HOJO, but we were at GCH that time last year and the first 2 days (I think it was Sunday and Monday, maybe Tuesday) was pretty warm, we wore shorts and t-shirts and went swimming. It was still cold, not bad though, but in the sun manageable. Then the cold came, temp got low, and we were freezing, no longer wearing shorts, but Jean's and jackets during the day.

So it's really hard to say if you'll be able to swim. Sure you can, but how cold will it be depends on the weather and I guess the day, as in our case. It changed so fast for us, it was amazing, we couldn't believe it.

Good luck and who knows, you might get to swim everyday and be warm, you never know :)
