I know many of us love HoJo (Howard Johnson) ... so I decided to post my pictures from my recent stay there ... Feel free to post your pictures too :goodvibes

I have stayed at HoJo 8 times on floor 4, 5, and 6 (building 1) ... I always have preferred it over staying on-site ...

This was the first time we were given floor 7, which I have always wanted b/c of the upper window ...

Room 1711 ... Feb 9th -11th ... Daily Rate $80.15 (AP Rate)

Please excuse my BF's feet ... we drove up right when he got off work ... he hit the bed as soon as we opened the door ... Park View = Matterhorn

Side Note: The first time we stayed here I put the fridge on high and it turned into an icebox freezing all of the drinks ... :rotfl:

Downsides to this room:
We could hear the freeway more so on this floor than any other (probably b/c we had less tree branches covering our balcony)
The lock on the balcony door was hard to lock (5-10 tries to get it to lock)
There were no drapes or blinds for the top window ... I like sleeping in pitch black darkness ... this was a problem for me but not my bf ...

Upsides to this room:
Everything not stated in the downsides lol

Was this in building one? Did your room have a microwave?
We stayed in building one in November the only picture I have of our room is super messy because I had unpacked all over my bed and dumped our shopping bags all over the floor so I'm not going to post that pic lol. But we are looking to book a room at HOJo's with a microwave but they're premium rooms and I have no idea what the premium rooms look like.

Yes this is building 1 ... no microwave in any of the rooms I have stayed in, in this building ... but I am not sure if they are offered in other rooms in building 1

Thanks AStarOnMars for posting these! We are going to stay at the HoJo in May. It is great to see what the rooms look like. We will have a park view, but that was about all I knew. ;)

Thanks again!

These pictures are really making me get anxious and impatient for my June trip. I love the HOJO.

You don't happen to have pictures of the pool area, do you? I think someone said recently that their kids love pools, and the HoJo had the best off-site pool. Just curious what it looks like. :)

We really enjoyed the HoJo on our first DL trip 2 years ago, we stayed in building 2 I believe overlooking the quiet pool. I liked the grounds and the size of our room, plus the fridge. The kids ate b'fast while we were getting ready. The pool was fun for kids too. We only paid $32/night! We would go back for sure, although this trip in May we are trying DLH on DVC points since dd5 loves Peter Pan so much right now.

Just letting everyone know we got this room a few times with an entertainment card rate of $69 a night! Hope you can get that if you book!

Andrea, Is this rate available for all dates? We might need an additional room when we go and that is a great rate :thumbsup2 Thanks for posting it!

We've stayed in this EXACT SAME ROOM!:rotfl:

I kind of wish we were one floor below, because with the skylight-type windows up high on both sides (front and back) of the room, I could really hear the freeway traffic during the night. It didn't bother my DH at all, but it was a little bothersome for me. And yes, the light can be bothersome as well in the early morning.

A great room though, with a really nice view!:thumbsup2

wow that is not a bad room. How do you get to disneyland? Is it close enought to walk?

We stayed at Disneyland hotel. We have a stuffed animal pluto. When we would go to the park the staff would come in and have pluto playing in the room while we where out. One time he had tinkerbell in his mouth, another time he was on the orther bed on his side with one paw under his head like he had been sleeping but he had candy all around him. So my granddaughter thinks pluto only plays in the room when we go to the park. She is 5 and tells all of her friends that he moves without a heart or bones. lol Does this hotel do this?

When are you going? They just released them through June for now. You have to call the HOJO Anaheim directly and ask for inhouse reservations! You cannot do it through the national reservations. They will connect you, give them your dates and they will let you know if it's available. If not keep calling periodically because I have had them open up before.

Also a standard non-theme park view is $54 a night with no view!

Yes, it is across the street. It is actually the same walk as from the Disneyland Hotel where you stayed to the front gates if you dont' take the monorail and walk through DTD. About 5-7 minutes depending on speed!

I am staying in a theme park view in April, how do I get this book to switch to that rate? Do I need to have a coupon? That is a great rate!

You need an entertainment book like they sell at schools. It can be from any city but you have to have the card with you when you check in. You can get a book locally or order here

I looked at the site, and there are different cities. I was wondering which city's is the least expensive that includes the HOJO discount? Any help would be great. Also, do you just mention the entertainment book when you book?
So could I reserve the room with the book rate and then order the entertainment book if I am able to get a ressie, or is there a code or something I need? Thanks!

We are going May 8th-12th. I booked the package through Alaska Air so we could do the kids fly so we probably can't change to the cheaper price, But my SIL is maybe going with us and she would need an additional room and this would be a great price.

Thank you so much for the info :thumbsup2

Hope you had a great Valentines day!
