HOJO, Park Vue, or BWPPI?

I know this gets asked all the time but we are having a hard time deciding. It will be my husband and I and our three kids ages 4, 6, and 7. My husband has training down in Anaheim so during the day I will be taking our kids by myself to the parks (we have APs), and then bring them back to the hotel for naps and then at 4 we will head back with my husband.
I thought we were going to do Park Vue but than I read a recent thread about the fart water and cockroaches and now I'm worried about that. I am worried that by myself the walk to the hojo might be a little much.
Anyways we have a reservation made for both the Hojo and Park Vue right now. We are going August 20-27th. Any advice, thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd choose PVI hands down. You will find it much more relaxing being super close and enjoy the food they offer too.

Fairfield inn has a stay 3 nights get the 4th night free, short walk to the parks and clean....

In your situation, I think the HOJO is too far of a trek (and I'm a HOJO fan). On the other hand, when I showed my husband the pictures of the PVI rooms, he didn't want to stay there (vs. the upgraded Deluxe Queen rooms at the HOJO). So we're doing the 8-10 minute slog back to HOJO anyway. So maybe the BWPPI?!?

I'll be staying at the "Fart Water Inn" the week before your trip. That review made me take pause, but frankly the location is so great that I'm willing to put up with some negatives :)

I had a similar question recently, and as of now we are staying at Hojo. I'll be solo with my 5yo and 7yo, and I'm not at all worried about the distance. We stayed there when the kids were 3.5 and 5, and it wasn't a problem. I like that they have a separate room for the kids, so I can have some space. The kids love the water play area, and should enjoy the regular pool as well. We didn't stay in a family suite last time, and my biggest issue with Hojo was noise (this time I'll use the air conditioner as white noise) and sleeping in the same room as my kids/sharing a bed with my son, which doesn't work. Other than that we loved the Hojo.

I decided against the Park Vue because of reviews about the dirt/uncleanliness, and because while they do offer some free food, I've heard it is kind of gross. We stayed there on our first trip and it was pretty awful. It was so loud, and dirty, and just felt cheap and crummy. Yes, the location is great, but IMO that's all it has going for it. If I were going on a solo trip and using the hotel solely as a sleeping place at night, I'd consider staying there. I considered it for this trip because of the new carpet and updated bedding, but I just wasn't comfortable with the idea of staying there.

My third option, the wild card that I still consider, is the Hyatt. They have kid suites, 2 pools, fun family activities, restaurants on site (including one with a kids area with a tv that shows Disney movies), a dedicated shuttle, and is just plain nicer/newer than the other two. The con is that it is farther from Disney, and we'd have to take the shuttle if we go back and forth, and that might be a deterrent. If I knew how long the shuttle ride is, I might seriously consider staying there, but for now I'm OK with Hojo.

We will be there at the same time as you, so perhaps we will see you at Hojo!

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Too funny!!

I am sure you have read my review on Trip Advisor, if not, check it out. I loved the PVI (we were just there July 8-15) and did not notice a smell in the water at all. We also did not have the unfortunate event of cockroaches either although I had read about it before and was a little nervous. I think that the cockroach problem could happen in any motel type building with the doors on the outside as opposed a hotel type where the doors are inside. I would definately return to the PVI again on any trip. Good luck choosing, I think it was the hardest decision to make when I was planning my trip too!:goodvibes
