I'm planning our family's first trip in three weeks, but my sister is up and leaving spur of the moment today. (I'll be asking all my newbie questions soon) I noticed HOJO has their entertainment rates for this week. She doesn't have a book or card. Is it feasible for her to get one today? How does one buy one? Do you get your number instantly?

So IF that could work, she'd call in house reservations right? Thanks for your help!

When you buy the entertainment book you get the card and that's what you need to get the entertainment rate. It doesn't need to be the Orange County book, any card works and I'm pretty sure you don't need the card until you check in so she could book the room without the card and she would just have to show it when she checks in. I'm not sure where you can buy the book but I know in the past I've seen them at grocery stores.

Hope that helps. I've never actually stayed at Hojo's but there is so much info on the boards about it that I've learned a lot about how it works. Good luck!

I bough my 1st Entertainment book at a Blockbuster Video...

I wonder if you looked on their website to see if they have a list of locations by zip code where you can buy one.

GL :flower3:

First, you don't need the card to make a reservation. Second, going on the website will not tell you where you can make a reservation. I went through that last week. I ended up buying the card alone on Ebay for 99 cents. They will ask for it when you check in.

According to their rules of use on Entertainment.com buying "parts" of the book...like getting the card on Ebay is against their rules. Is it likely that you'd get caught using someone else's card, probably not but still...

If you have time to wait for an Ebay seller to send you the card through the mail, why not just buy the book with the card attached from the official website like most everyone else does? For $35 it's a great price considering the $$ you can save with all the coupons in the book

The card/book expired Nov. 2009. It's a new card, I registered it when I got it. I'll probably buy the book for next year if someone has it for a fundraiser. At the time, I just wanted the card for the discount at HOJO.

Thanks so much for the help everyone! I guess her trip was a little too last minute to take advantage of the entertainment rate.
