Hey guys !

Soooo, I'm deciding to try HOJO's for the first time. We are planning on going (hopefully) from the 3rd of January to the 5th, then leaving in the morning on the 6th. I would like to see if it would be possible to get the entertainment rate, but I don't have a book. Help ?

Here ya go! : http://www.hojoanaheim.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14

Looks like it's available for the 4th and 5th. You can still get the DIS rate for your first night, if they don't add it for the 3rd.

Call in house reservations weekdays 9-4 Pacific, and book it now; if you find something else for a better deal later, you can always cancel.

You can get an entertainment card from e-bay-- you can get just the card for like $5.00 and no shipping. You don't need the whole book.

Hope that helps! Lucky you, that is going to be a fun trip! :thumbsup2

Hopefully the 3 rd will open up too, and be available for the entertainment card rate. That would be great! :)

And...... if one has an AP, then you can receive 20% off of the room rate.

I have a Premium AP, will I get 20% discount on the entertainment rate too ?

That would be awesome, if one could combine discounts. Alas, discount offers cannot be combined.

Yay! We booked entertainment rate for 2 nights and AP rate for 1 on our first stay at the Hojo! :thumbsup2

Also when you call, just double check, because on that link Gail provided, for December it says that the entertainment rate is available on the 1st and 2nd, but come to find out it's the 1st and 3rd. So the dates are subject to change on that discussion board post. I was surprised when I called and found out that the days swaped. Not that big of a deal, but just a heads up.

I'm excited to stay at the Hojo!

i have an entertainment book/card....you could use it if you want :)

OOO thanks :)

I'm still deciding though because I REALLLLLY don't want to walk that far to my room. What do you think ?:confused3

i would stay somewhere closer if i were you, especially since you're used to being right across the street. i know i couldnt do it! unless i had to of course:laughing: i wanted to stay there for our last trip...but i couldnt do it! lol it just seems soooo far even though everyone says its not that bad. its probably just me being lazy though:lmao: go for it if you wanna try something new, but honestly if you could stay closer, its probably better.

Thats what my brain keeps telling me, but my wallet is telling me other things as well !!

We'll see what happens in the end :)

Jasmine, I'll let you know how far the walk is. We never ever stay close enough to walk, we always drive since parking is on our APs. This is the first time we're staying on Harbor across the street. And believe me, I'm lazy when it comes to walking. Or just lazy in general. So I'll let you know! If that helps any!

Okay, I was talking to Kaycee and let me know if this sounds crazy because she thinks it is a little. I am thinking about driving to the parking lot because we're AP holders as well. Is it ridiculous to stay at HoJos and still go and park in the parking lot to save our feet ?

I hope you don't mind if I hijack the thread but since we are on the topic..

Does the HoJo take out any money when you make an Ent. card ressie? Are there any fees for changing your ressie? We can't decide if we want to check out on the 22 or 23 to head up to L.A. but I don't want to miss out on the good rates.

Thanks Courtney !

Not at all! We do that all the time! And I have a feeling we might do it at least once this next time. We don’t really mind it takes longer to drive/park/take the tram than to walk. It’s all the same to us. If parking is free for you guys in the parking structure, why not?! Plus parking is free at Hojo so it’s all gravy! :thumbsup2

Nope! They don’t take anything out until you check out. I just made my ressies for Hojo with the entertainment rate and using our AP and they took down my credit card number but didn’t take any money out. I think you have 48 hours to change/cancel a ressie without a charge. :)

HoJo will authorize the funds but not charge you until you check out.

Jasmine, we stay at the HoJo all the time! The walk is seriously 7-10 min. max, the 10 is when we are walking slow. Cross Harbor at Manchester and cut thru the taxi/tram parking and it's much faster!!! You also don't get caught up in the hordes of people on the other side of Harbor. We used to stay at the Tropicana but we just can't rationalize that right now because of $$ so we'd much rather stay at the HoJo in a Garden View room than be right across the street. :)

This trip we will be using the shuttle or driving (we may add a parking pass to our AP's) because we will be staying with our time share points at the Peacock. Nice place but not walking distance. LOL

Oh and make sure the Ent Card you get is for 2009, they change the colors of the cards every year. :)

Do not know for sure about HoJo's, but I figure it is along the same lines. That being a different property that I stayed at this year, pre-authorized the transaction, and also charged a small fee ( Cannot remember the name for this fee, but the charge was essentially reversed, upon checking out) Then upon checking out, the transaction was charged to my account. Everything worked out well ( I say that, because I do have a tendency to worry about being over charged, or doubled charged, etc. )

Well, from our experience, YES it's ridiculous. It takes about 10 minutes to talk from the HoJo parking lot to the esplanade, and that includes the time spent at bag check.

The two times we parked, it took about 20 minutes to get from the parking space to the escalator to the trams, wait for the trams, take the tram, walk quarter way through DTD from the trams to bag check. The walk from where we are always parked in the Mickey structure is about the length from HoJo to the crosswalk at Harbor!

The time from the HoJo parking lot to the closer Harbor hotels is *MAYBE* 5 minutes but more like 3 or 4. The bulk of that walk is from the esplanade to the other side of Harbor, seriously. Getting to HoJo isn't long at all. :)

No money charged, always check with any hotel what their cancellation policies are. For instance, Carousel has something like a 48 hour policy, but when i booked through Orbitz or Travelocity at Carousel, I had a 72 hour cancellation policy, whoopsie!

Thanks everyone for the info !! This is helping quite a lot :)

Jasmine, I had a thought. If you're so tired and wiped at the end of the night and can't walk back to the HoJo grab a taxi where you walked thru. They love taking people back to their rooms...OR you can take the ART, you just gotta get a pass for it. :)
