I just got in on the HOJO Entertainment rate for part of my trip YAY! But they only had 1 standard 2-dbl. bed room left. She said it was in the Pavilions. Can you tell me is that a good spot? I have read tons of the HOJO threads but can't find anything about the Pavilions. I do also have a reservation with Desert Inn, that we usually stay at (because of conveniece), but thought with the great Ent. rates I would try out HOJO's. I would love anyones opinions about the standard dbl. bed rooms, and the Pavilions, if you have actual pictures too would be awesome!! Thanks so much!

We are staying there in October for our first time as well.

I haven't heard anything mentioned about a pavillion either. I have a link to a map someone sent me once, but unless I am blind, I don't see a mention of it on there.

I haven't heard of Pavilion before either, but I looked at the website and the dbl rooms are coded NDD1, which is in Bldgs 3, 4, 5, 6. I *think* those are the garden view rooms that many here seems to think are some of the best rooms.

Hopefully someone who knows for sure will chime in, but I think you'll be happy!

I think the pavilion rooms are buildings 3, 4, 5, and 6. I rarely hear them referred to this way. Buildings 3, 4, 5, and 6 have the rooms with the two double beds. They are two story buildings without elevators. I believe the second story rooms have skylights. We have always stayed in the deluxe rooms with two queen beds in building 2 for a slightly higher price, but I have seen posts by many others on this board who enjoy the double bed rooms.

Yes, they are buildings 3, 4, 5, 6. We have stayed in them before and they are fine, but we prefer building 2 with the 2 queens. We would stay in the Pavillion rooms again though, if we couldn't get building 2.

Be aware that the second floor of these buildings have big skylights so the light will come through in the morning. You may want to request the first floor if you think that will bother you.

Thank you for your replies! I may check frequently if a dbl. queen room opens up for building 2, or if not I will just stay with the dbl. room. I appreciate your help!! :)

Actually, I prefer the Pavilion rooms to the tower rooms, though I think i'm in the minority there. For one thing, the Pavilion rooms aren't next to the freeway, and there's a better chance of getting a room with a skylight (which I love but the general consensus here seems to be "too bright! keeps me up at night!). I've got some pics; I'll go find them in my Photobucket, brb...

Sorry that took me so long; Photobucket is taking foreverrrrrrrrrrrr to load for some reason. Here's a pic I took that shows a pavilion room, with a skylight:

It doesn't show the bed very well; the bed, though double sized, was just as comfortable as in the tower/Disney view room that I stayed in.

Thanks so much Spacemermaid for the pictures!! I actually really like the skylight feature too! Generally we are so tired from walking all day, we don't worry about a little light waking us up ;) Thanks again, I am such a visual person and the pictures help me!

We are frequent HoJo guests (well were when we had ap's) and we always wanted the Pavilion rooms (which is what I always call them when I talk about them). We like them so much better, we love being on the 2nd floor (only 2 floors, no elevators) and the rooms are always great. :) Bldgs 4 & 6 are our favorites, they are farther from the freeway and very quiet. Bldg 4 has views of the courtyard or the pirate play area and Bldg 6 had views of the garden pool or the courtyard, depending on which side you are on. While the beds aren't all new and pillowtop they are very comfy and there was plenty of room for us. I didn't think we would like the skylights but we really did, they were great for helping us wake up in the morning. :)

Glad I could help! I remember that I took this picture specifically for the reason that I could find no other pics online that showed the skylights. (There are 2 in each of the 2nd story Pavilion rooms...the one shown in my pic, and one above the door) I love the skylights...they're an intersting architectural feature, and make the rooms seem bigger.

See, I love the skylights too. We had a room in bldg. 4 when we stayed there the first time back in 2004 and I loved having natural light come in. I wake up to natural light at home and its nice to do so on vacation.

Does anyone know if all the rooms in these four buildings have elevators? On the little video thing on the Hojo website it said they do, on the hojo message board Lorealle said not all rooms in these buildings do have balconies. Really want a balcony.

We spent 2 nights in a 2nd floor pavillion room last July *2009* - it was fine, in fact we'll be in one *no clue which floor* this Nov. ~ I like the $59 ent rate!

Well, the ones we stayed in have had balconies, we haven't stayed in every room but we have in every building. All the rooms that face the courtyard have balconies and I thought the rooms that faced the pool and the pirate area did too.......maybe the rooms that face the lobby building (that would be bldg 3) didn't......but we stayed on the 2nd floor facing the courtyard in bldg 3 so I don't know for sure...

We love those rooms! if hubby and I are going alone, it's where we prefer now! They all have balconies, but no elevators. They are really spacious rooms! We also love the skylights! We like building 4 2nd floor, room 9 so 4209...it's at the end closest to Disneyland so you can just leave out the door right there, and walk through the parking lot out onto Harbor, cross the street right away at the light, then walk down harbor to the taxi area which is before the main entrance and you go right past the shuttle drop off area. Seriously it cuts about 200 steps off the trip and at night if you walk back it makes a difference! lol... we loved being able to open the door to the balcony and the sounds from the park in the morning came right in! and the monorail goes by...it's a very cool spot! you can phone them directly (not the 1-800 number) and tell them which building and floor you would prefer to be on. no garantee, but they do note it for your check in. I even got them to check which room had the bougainvillea growing up alongside the balcony!! lol.... Son and daughter in law and their 3 girls stayed in that same building on the ground floor and loved it!

I have been in 3 of the Pavillion rooms, and going for the first time in Bldg2 this upcoming September. I don't really remember having much of a problem with the shylight on the 2nd level, but I'm also an early rised so I wake up before the sun comes up and it never bothered me. They are also closer to the front of the HoJo property which makes a difference when walking back at the end o the night I suppose.

For the PP who asked about elevators - none of the Pavillion buildings have elevators, so that may play into requesting a 1st or 2nd floor room.

I'm kind of hoping I can 'downgrade' into the Pavillion rooms sometime before my trip. The people I thought I was going with can't go and it would be nice to lower that bill a bit since I doubt I'll get the ET rate for more than the one night I got, lol.

here are some pics looking out the balcony from the pavillion building room. 2nd floor of building #4 right at the end closest to DL.

dear grand daughter enjoying her breakfast on the balcony of room in building 4, first floor, also near the Disneyland end. The kids loved loved loved being able to watch the waterplay area even if they could not go out there at the time! being able to see the monorail going by at DL sure gets you motivated to get over there! Can't believe these pics were in late December early January the first 2, and middle February the last one. such beautiful weather!

a video clip off our balcony, the monorail going by... you can't really hear anything though because the water park is running and all you can hear is that! before they turn it on at 10 am though, you can hear the sounds from the park, the Disneyland express train, etc. makes a super nice start to the day!
