I keep reading post about the distance from Hojo to the entrance to DL/CA. But what about DTD? We plan to have 2 or 3 non park days, how long will it take us to get to DTD if we are at Hojo? I dont know if I can justify a 20 minute walk to dinner. Would we be better off staying by the crosswalk?

Ps, we will have a rental car. What is the drive and parking like at DTD?

It isn't much more of a walk. You just walk past both parks (through the esplanade). Of course you have to add on the time to walk through DTD, if your eating at the end of it.

Parking isn't bad by DTD, and it's free for a few hours (you can also get places to validate for you).

Once you get out to the crosswalk, the difference is about 4 minutes up the street. Not that much. Here's the route to take that cuts off several minutes, by routing you down the west side of Harbor instead of the crowded east side. You go in by the taxi entrance. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=88663

Driving and parking and walking all the way from your car into DTD would probably take much longer than 20 minutes.

Crosswalk vs HoJo gives you about 4, maybe 5 minutes less of a walk. Honestly, when I timed it and took pix at the same time, it really seems that the bulk of the walk is waiting for the crosswalk, crossing it, then walking with the sea of humanity to the bag check on the Harbor side. Since you have all that even if you're staying at the Tropicana etc, you're not saving THAT much time.

Just do NOT wear "cute" shoes!!!!!!! Took *months* to get over the blisters I gave myself by wearing cute, new, shoes on a brisk walk from HoJo to PPH on a warm early evening. Ugh.

Cute shoes?! I thought they weren't allowed in DLR!! :rotfl: I've seen some women wearing highheels in DLR they must be super human!

No, they are just super stupid. LOL I won't even wear flip flops to DL, I must have good comfy tennies. LOL

OP, the walk is about 8 min. from the HoJo to the esplanade between parks, from there it's another minute or two to get into DTD but depending on where you're going (ESPN Zone & RFC are at the far end) it can take about 15-18 min. total. It took us about 20 to get from the HoJo to the DLH but we were walking slow. :)

Note I said HoJo to PPH. No parks involved! I was on my way to a DVC presentation to meet Toocherie and thought, as silly females sometimes do, that I needed to look cute for it. It's hard to look cute when you're grimacing in pain!

On the other hand, when I was younger, and more importantly, thinner, I used to find big wedge heels more comfortable than athletic shoes, and wore them quite often. Would probably have worn them to disneyland, if I were in the Disneyland mode at the time!

Spike heels I don't understand, but in Tokyo Disneyland/DisneySea reports you see them all over the pictures, and they don't look to be in pain, so I figure some peoples' feetsies are just made differently! :upsidedow

I would also recommend the restaurants at the Garden Walk. You can drive and park in their garage, I believe they validate parking as well. It isn't that far, you could walk from HoJo, but I think I would probably drive.

PF Chang's, Bubba Gumps, Cheesecake Factory....yum! Also Joe's Crabshack is just a little ways up harbor, we like to eat there as well.

man i wish we could do dvc lol we went thought everything even paid the down and things happened we couldnt do it all well some time we will.

lol cute shoes i had to find something to walk in last year even my boots now hurt my feet tho they didnt when i bought them.
