Lily sat in Transfiguration, listening intently to Professor McGongall. The idea of being able to make objects change form with only her mind and her wand fascinated her.

Brutus was soon excited to find that the class was going to begin practicing the "transformation" spell on objects such as a goblet.

Daffodil was so excited for transfiguration! She was having fun in this class.

George attempted "Wingardium Leviosa" on his feather. He couldn't get it to work. Each time he tried, nothing would work. He looked around the class and found a few others not able to do it, so he felt a little better. He had one last try, and the feather lifted off the desk for a second. He was thrilled it worked! Each try after made the feather float higher, and longer.

Once transfiguration ended, Brutus quickly grabbed his books and began walking to his next class; charms. He decided to take a seat in the back since he was early.

Transfiguration was tricky, Lily quickly learned, but Professor McGonagall said she was doing excellent for her first time trying it. The bell rang, and she left happily for double Charms, her other favorite class. She wondered where all the other Hufflepuff students were; she hadn't seen many of them in the corridors today.

George left Charms with a sense of achievement, having used Wingardium Leviosa successfully. He now headed to History of Magic. He had heard it was a boring lesson, so he remembered to pack some reading material with him.

Kate was in her second half of Herbology. She really liked learning about the plants. She was a bit nervous as she had Potions next, and from what she's heard, Professor Snape played favorites.

Brutus got up and sat next to another hufflepuff student and decided to try and make a friend. "Hi!" he said in a cheerful voice. "My name's Brutus, what's yours?"

"Oh," she replied, feeling rather stupid. "I'm Lily. Have you just arrived? I didn't see you on the train."

"Sadly, yes. My dad just died, so I couldn't make it on time.. Anyway, how are you Lily?"

"Your dad died?" Lily asked, a pained look coming over her face. "I'm so sorry! I've actually been having a pretty good day; today's classes are much better than yesterday's."

"It's okay. I didn't really know him that much anyway to begin with. Today's been a good day for me too. I was lost all yesterday; i'm finally getting used to the schedule."

Luna left the Charms classroom and headed to History of Magic. She felt that this would be a weird class because Professor Binns was a ghost. She took her seat among the Ravenclaws and got her book out of her bag. She was contemplating doing her potions homework during this class but she figured she should pay attention, at least on the first day.
