Gabrielle: she woke up and stretched. She felt different. She was still human, mostly. She crawled on the ground. She saw Mack sleeping and crawled to him, hopping on the bed, curling up next to him. She felt comfort when he pulled her close to him. She kissed his chin, his stubble tickling her lips.

Mack: he smiled, asleep, as he held her. Did he really have feelings for a wolf?

Gabrielle: she started blinking, realizing what was going on. She pulled away from the man who helped kill her parents. She wanted Jackson. She saw a mirror and walked up to it. She looked like a pet. She had chains around her neck, waist, arms and legs, and was pale from head to toe. She was cold, and saw the sweater that Mack had given her. She picked it up. It was made from werewolf fur. She threw it across the room and remained bare. She crawled into a corner and held her legs, shivering. She cried about Jackson. Why would he say that she didn't love him? She was mad, but felt horrible about what she had done to Ivy. She had dreamed of their wedding day, why did she faint before she answered? "Yes." She whispered. "I do."
