OOC: Because my characters are useless right now.
Veronica: She finished her letter and sent it to the students in the room of requirement.
The owl flew in and landed near the students. The letter read:
Dear Friends,
It is I, Nic. I decided to send you a letter because I'm really bored here, and I bet you are too. How are you guys holding up over there? Anything new?
It's rather boring here. Alexei and Anya say hello and that they miss you. You probably don't know my cousin and godbrother David, he's a Ravenclaw third year, but he says hello too. I don't know how he's been doing it, being here at the house all the time. He was dragged home first thing the death eaters started taking over. I do know how he's been spending it though, mostly painting or riding his horse. Since we're out in the country, he's been permitted to ride around the estate. Anya loves the horses too, David has been teaching her to ride, and she just loves it, and apparently has taken to it rather quickly. We study or play a game together a lot too, but mostly we're split up, either in pairs or the three of us and David off on his own.
As you might have guessed with David and Anya doing their riding, Alexei and I have been spending time together, and almost everyone's been real weird about it. I mean, we're best friends, it's no like we're going to spend our time all by ourselves when another person is just down the hall! Anya likes to tease us, (not like I couldn't do the same about David, the hypocrite) and nine times out of ten Dad will jump in (the traitor). Mom doesn't say anything, but she keeps looking at me when she thinks I'm not paying attention, and every time I catch her doing it (which frankly is a lot), she just smiles at me. It's really worrisome and annoying. David's the only one who has the decency to act normal. What is up with these people? I asked Alexei, but he doesn't get their strange behavior either.
David wants to show me his latest masterpiece, I'd best be off.
Ciao, my friends,
Veronica
