Gabrielle: she licked his face and ran, howling, into the forest. She hid in a hollow tree. She panted. She had never had to run in this body, and it was difficult, but soon she had gotten used to it. It made her feel free, not trapped inside a wolf's body, like she usually felt.

Gabrielle: she stopped. She turned. She had to go back. She didn't want Jackson to get hurt. She ran back to the edge of the forest and sat, waiting, just in case.
