Melanie: "Is there anything you'd like to tell me?"
Nagini: "Pass."
Melanie: "Is there anything you'd like to tell me?"
Nagini: "Pass."
Melanie: "Is there anything I can do to help, Nagini?"
Nagini: "Pass."
Melanie: She put her hand on Nagini's shoulder. "You'll get through it. I promise you will."
Nagini: she looked up at Melanie. "I don't know how to deal with little brothers."
Melanie: Her eyes were understanding. "You wish he was here. You wish he was better."
Nagini: she lifted one of her arms warily off of her knee, and looked at her dark mark. "I don't know how to deal with death eaters."
Melanie: "You don't need to. Jackson never learned what was right. He just wanted to succeed."
Nagini: "Succeed? I don't know how to deal with failing. If I failed, I would die."
Melanie: "He wanted to be on the winning side. To him it doesn't matter who is killed, for the exception of maybe a select few. He doesn't understand."
Nagini: she just stared at Melanie, still crouched in a ball in the corner.
Melanie: She put her arm around her. "If you'd like to send him an owl, I'm sure he would understand."
Nagini: she shook her head. "I don't want to leave Mr. Corner." She said, scooching back, so Melanie had to remove her arm.
Melanie: She removed her arm. "If you want to stay here, you can."
Nagini: "I don't want to leave Mr. Corner." She repeated.
Melanie: "All right. Come get me if you need anything," she said, standing up again.
Nagini: "Thank you, Melanie." She said quietly.
Melanie: She nodded and went back to the couch, though didn't read. Instead she tried not to think.
