Hogwarts RP Part 2!

Holly: Holly entered the Defense classroom with her lips pressed tightly together; she hadn't forgotten the past day's encounter. She sat down next to Jane.

OOC: at least I think it was the past day. And I'm not going to start quite yet since we are waiting on a few characters, if that's okay.

Jane: She got a letter. She was the team's beater! She went to DADA. " Luke, Alexei, guess what! I'm on the team!"

OOC: I'm going to go ahead and start since most are here now.

Professor Fitzgerald: "Er-good morning, class," he spoke once most students were in. "My name is Professor Fitzgerald, and I am your new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. I thought that since this is really your first lesson of the year, we would start off with some defensive spells."

 

[Fairywings]

Jane: She got a letter. She was the team's beater! She went to DADA. " Luke, Alexei, guess what! I'm on the team!"

OOC: There's no official list yet, but whatever, I'm just going to pretend my characters have the positions they asked for.

Alexei: "On the Gryffindor team? Awesome, I'm a Beater! I wasn't sure if exchange students could, but there must have been scouts or something!"

Lucas: Luke smiled. "Congratulations Jane. Of course, you know this means you have to play me now. I am the Hufflepuff Seeker."

Veronica: Veronica smiled. During the summer, she played with her friends as Chaser, but she would never join the Slytherin team, and she wasn't a true Gryffindor so she didn't try to join the team, but she loved quidditch. "Grats Jane!"

OOC: I'm going to go ahead and start since most are here now.

Professor Fitzgerald: "Er-good morning, class," he spoke once most students were in. "My name is Professor Fitzgerald, and I am your new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. I thought that since this is really your first lesson of the year, we would start off with some defensive spells."

Lucas: Luke held back a sigh. It would be a theoretical lesson for sure. He liked practical lessons, where they used wands and actually learned the spells, to theoretical, where they only read in the books or took notes and listened to lectures.

OOC: There's no official list yet, but whatever, I'm just going to pretend my characters have the positions they asked for.

Alexei: "On the Gryffindor team? Awesome, I'm a Beater! I wasn't sure if exchange students could, but there must have been scouts or something!"

Alexei: "Cool." He listened, but believed DADA was definitely a less interesting subject than quidditch. He missed the quidditch class at Durmstrang.

Jane: She enjoyed DADA. She just hoped they wouldn't study werewolves.

Professor Fitzgerald: "Okay, so I would teach you protective spells but I believe Mel-Professor Black, sorry about that-is going to cover that later today. In here you will be learning about counter curses," he said in his kinder manner, as he wasn't a strict person. He told them to take out parchment and begin copying a list of spells on the board.

Professor Fitzgerald: "Okay, so I would teach you protective spells but I believe Mel-Professor Black, sorry about that-is going to cover that later today. In here you will be learning about counter curses," he said in his kinder manner, as he wasn't a strict person. He told them to take out parchment and begin copying a list of spells on the board.

Jane: She had memorized all the spells, but copied them down anyway.

Veronica: Veronica pulled out a quill and parchment and copied it down. She knew these, she was a sixth year in NEWT courses after all, but a refresher wouldn't hurt.

Alexei: He was also a sixth year in NEWT courses, so he also knew these. At least if he fell asleep he wouldn't miss any new material.

Lucas: He copied down the spells. He might as well review these for OWLs.

OOC: For those who don't know, Quiditch is like magic soccer on brooms. There are three hoops for goals on each side. The chasers pass the quaffle, the soccer ball, and try to score goals. Each goal earns ten points. The keeper blocks the goals. There are baseball sized balls that are enchanted to try to hit players off there brooms, and beaters have small clubs that they use to aim the bludgers away from their team mates, and towards the opposing team. The game ends when the seeker catches the snitch, a small flying gold ball. The team's seeker who catches it scores 120 points for their team. ( I think it's 120, but I'm not sure) A student is the announcer.

OOC: I think it's 150

OOC: It's 150. And the game only ends when the snitch is caught, so games can go on for days, weeks months, long periods of time. Even if you catch the snitch, there's no guarantee you'll win, if the other team has more points than you even with the 150 you get from catching the snitch
