We haven't been too Disney in 5 loooong years. We're FINALLY going back and can't wait to finally experience Harry Potter!!!

Can you really not ride the train without a park to park pass???! We have no use for that perk!!! I don't see any individual prices to ride the train..

I noticed you said Disney and have a Disney ticker. Harry Potter is at Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure. The train takes you from one park into the other, so you do need a park-to-park pass for that.

The ticker is from our last Disney vacation.. time for a new one, huh?!

We are visiting mostly Disney World but are planning two days at the Universal parks. Thanks guys!

Oh whew! I was worried you thought HP was at Disney and were going to have to refigure things!

It's been 5 or 6 years but I'm not THAT far out of the loop. Thank goodness. Lol this is the first time we're doing things off property, tho.. so it is another whole ballgame.

No individual prices for Hogwarts Express. As said you do need a park to park ticket.

HE isn't just a means of getting from park to park, it's a full Potter experience, like a ride on its own. It is a wonderful ride, different both ways. Well worth it for Potter fans, or even if you're not.

We're addicted to Potter!! Lol But that's one expensive ride!!!! Upgrading the tickets for just that kills me!!!

You are looking at about $45 more for each ticket you need to buy (or $20 per day if you want to look at it that way). The freedom to travel between parks is nice to have. It is not like hopping at WDW where it takes and hour to get from one to the other. Not only is HE a great ride, it makes hopping fast. You will not regret it when you want to re-ride things on the second day.

The thing is that you're not just upgrading the ticket for that one ride. Upgrading gets you full access to another whole park. We routinely bounce back and forth between the parks most days. It's super convenient and easy. :-)

While it is an added bonus for park goers, not everyone can afford to upgrade to park to park access, and I think that might be what the OP is worried about. You have to think that is almost a $50 add on and unknowing how many people are in this person's family, that could be a lot. Some people have a budget and want to stick to that budget. While park to park would open the door for so much more for the person, as it isn't just access to a ride, but to a whole other park, they just might not be able to do it budget wise, or just do not want to do it. Besides, it sounds as if Caramia just wants HE and not have anything to do with the other park.

Their primary concern, as expressed in the first post, is experiencing Harry Potter.... Park-to-park access would allow them to maximize their HP experience for sure!

While that might be true, the OP sounded as if they were not thrilled/concerned with the pricing and ticketing situation even after told it would maximize their experience. Hence the reasoning of what I said as a whole. Some people might be interested in one section of the park over another, or simply cannot manage park to park admission price wise, or simply might just have the desire to pay that amount of money.

There are tons of reasons as to not do park to park, regardless of how enjoyable it might be, or convenient it might be. There are plenty of guests I'm sure daily that decide to not do park to park for several reasons. Way before I had my annual pass, I even debated if I could afford just one ticket, which side I wanted to enjoy although I am a hardcore Potter fan myself and would love to enjoy both sides, but at the time, it just couldn't happen.

The beauty of having the AP is the best

Do a one time buy and do 4 days in the park
Money worth spending

Park hop and as many park days you have time for

So just to clarify... I had planned on spending a day at each park.. so buying a two day pass. Although I don't feel the need to hop from park to park on a single day, I would love to ride the ride. There are 5 of us, so yes, upgrading the ticket to primarily take the ride adds up!!

i see your point.

you have 5 in your group to cover so that would not be feasible then to upgrade to the power pass.

I'm in the same situation as OP. We are going in Sept and doing 5 Disney days and 2 Universal days. There are 5 of us (2 avid HP fans) and I'm having such a hard time deciding if I should get the park to park pass! I don't feel the need to hop - 1 day at each park seems like it would work fine....BUT, I'm sure the kids would LOVE to ride HE.

That's our plan as well. We decided to go with the PH (although, in my situation it's only two of us) for Universal as I'd break down in tears if I couldn't ride the HE. Honestly. I'm not kidding. I honestly would. Harry Potter was my childhood and it's such wonderful fond memories. I wonder if it's alright for certain folks in the group to ride the HE if others do not?

Like in your group, two of you are avid HP fans, as you called yourselves (let's be real, you're not a fan, you're a POTTERHEAD :P), so why not do Uni PH for just the two of you?

ALSO WE GO AT THE SAME TIME! I see your ticker! I'm so excited for us! *dances*

Well....not a bad idea - we'd have to definitely buy 3 though. The 2 avid "Potterheads" are 2 of the kids.:D Not sure if we'd want to separate or not...something to think about though! I just priced it out....it would be $265 for the 5 of us to have the hoppers. o_O

I'm SOOOOOOOOO excited too! I hate to wish the summer away, BUT.....I can't wait until Sept!
