Hmph. Ever get that feeling...

Why do we all feel like we just dont have enough, so we keep working and working and are never satisfied?

As words of someone "Love the one your with" ;)

Hah.
I had to.
Me sorry.

Thank you for bumpin this thread.

I think we don't feel like we have enough because it's human nature. There is ALWAYS something out there we don't have, so we strive to get everything even though it's impossible.

I used to think about that ALL the time.
The color theory, I mean.
But my psychology teacher said that there's all this research that disproves it.
I mean, if everyone sees red and pink differently, how does everyone agree that their hues are similar to one another?

And yeah, my mind doesn't go blank, it just all gets kinda..jumbled?

Well I've always wondered what if you are the ONLY person who sees it differently? Like what if everyone just shows you a color and says it's green but to you it looks like blue does so you just assume it's green. Confusing.

Yes, in my mind I do all the time. Although when I'm home alone I'll just randomly start talking about something.
Sometimes I'll act like I'm on food network, but I don't cook often so...

Good, because I can't really explain it.
I mean I see black when I cover my eyes with my hands of course but when I just close my eyes it's like nothing.
I know. It's just really hard to explain.

Does everybody see the same colors or do we think that we see the same colors because what i call orange is purple to you so but you grew up calling it orange?
if a tree in a forest with nobody around falls.does it make a noise?

When I think of this stuff, I literally go insane.
It takes the TV to calm me down again.
I think I might actually be phsycotic.
If you're crazy, do you admit it?

The most worldwide accepted theory of the creation of the universe (other then religious theories) is the Big Bang. But what confuses me is how can something appear from nothing? There was nothing there and then something suddenly existed and that things made everything we see today... It's too confusing to think about. I'm confused at how Stephan Hawkings can figure this out...

That's why I don't believe that. But actually I think that theory states that some matter caused the big bang so it didn't really come from nothing, just almost nothing. :thumbsup2

I sometimes wonder how weird it is that we have dreams at night. It's like we know they are not real but we want them to be. It's upsetting at the same time...

My mind gets warped arround how people saw time goes faster when your sleeping. Does it move faster? why cant i control myself? Why cant i wake up? all of those questions drive me crazy to insombia levels.

Time doesnt go faster when you're asleep. That would involve the world moving and an unexplainable rate (yes, im trying to sound smart and yes I know its not working).

O i know it. I know all the science behind it allll. But my mind wont accecpt it even after lots of people explained it in diffeent ways. My minds bent on it

If i cant explain somthing to myself it gets forgotten unless my mind fixates on it then it bothers me 2 no end

For all the color theory things, like
"What if everyone sees colors differently than one another?"
Like what if I see red as blue, whereas you see red as purple, etc.

We were discussing it in pyschology, and there's all this research that goes against it.
There's no scientific research that the color theory is at all plausible.
I used to think about it a lot, but, not true.

I love these kinds of questions though.

Okay then where did that matter come from?
It can't just appear out of nowhere.

ooh, i think i know the answer to some of these lol

big bang: i believe the big bang theory and evolution.. in that theory, it just says how the earth was formed... there were unstable gases and such and an explosion occured in space, drawing matter that was already in space into a concentrated area, essentially forming earth... however, like desan said, it doesnt explain where the matter in space came from.. my take is that someone or something of a higher level (?) put that matter there so it can react

Colors: people all see the same colors lol... all of our systems, including the visual system, are built the same.. the rods in our eyes are sensitive to light... and our cones are basically responsible for color vision... basically, different colors are just different frequencies of light waves.. so when the frequency for red hits the cones in your eyes, it will interepret the frequency into the color that you see... so if you stood in a room with someone.. and were shown a picture of the color red.... you guys will be looking at the same frequency of light... and since you guys are of the same species (humans), your rods and cones work exactly like the other persons rods and cones, meaning you will both see the same color (same structures interpreting color + same frequency of light = see same color)...... and just a fun fact.. color blindness is just a deficiency in the rods and cones :P

Sleep: time doesnt past faster when you sleep.... when your asleep, your conscious mind totally goes away and your unconscious emerges (dreams)... what keeps track of time is your conscious mind... but since its dormant when your sleeping, there is nothing in your body keeping track of external time, so when you wake up, it feels like time just flew by because your conscious mind re-emerges, and picks up where it left off (before you fell asleep)

HUZZAH!

Philosophy can't be explained as much as you try. So there's no real answer to some of our questions.

yep yep, but that was all biology though haha... but as we all know, science changes everyday... what we consider as fact is only fact because it hasnt been proven wrong yet... so for all we know, everything we ever thought we know as fact can be wrong if a phenomenon appears out of the blue to disprove it..

which leads me to my question:

Is there such thing as an absolute answer?

for example:
we all think 2+2=4 ... but how can we be sure that that is 100% true? "2" is really just a symbol... what exactly makes us think that the symbol of "2" added with the symbol of "2" will equal the symbol of "4".... cause think about it... the only reason we say 2+2 = 4 (or any other math problem for that matter) is because someone just told us thats what it is... the whole numbers system is what it is because someone just said it was.... theres no real proof that the symbol of "2" has to represent the meaning of the number 2 in our minds.... the same can be said for language.. we assume certain sounds correlate with different ideas in language, just because someone else said that "that sound means this idea" with no evidence or proof... its just an assumption that specific ideas match specific words... and if that is true, are we living in a life full of assumptions and there is no such thing as absolute truth?

haha, i know what i said is probably hard to understand.. but its also hard to describe.. but stuff like that just makes me sit for hours just thinking lol
