Hmmm... Should I get an extra ressie?

I've been looking at & reading reports of food & there is no way we're eating all that food! Most places we're going (like the Luau or Chef Mickey's) we can't share & save a TS but there are 2-4 places that we are going that we order off a menu & with an appetizer, an entree, and dessert there is no way we need 4 TS's. We'll need 2-3 max. We have 9 days of free DDP & I've made ressies for 9 TS credits (one is worth 2 so I have 8 ressies.) Now I'm worried about having TS credits left at the end of the week with no ressies & just wasting them.

So I have 2 questions. Will we be frowned at for 4 of us going in & only using 2 TS credits? Do you think I should make extra ressies?

TIA

I am not sure if you can make an ADR for Raindforrest...I don't think you can. I do know you can't use DDP.

You can make a reservation at Rainforest but you must call them directly.
I have had ADR at Rainforest in DTD. 407-827-8500 (Downtown Disney Location, sorry I don't have the # for the other, but I am sure that one could give it to you, or you could look it up on Superpages)
They are not on the DDP, but we enjoyed our meal there our first night before Cirque

Thanks for the quick replies on Rainforest. I think I'll skip it as we've eaten there several times & the DDP will fill us up enough (too much!) I don't want to eat extra places. Plus I have 6 month old & last time I took a 6 month old there she cried every time it stormed. I forgot that when I was orignally thinking of it.

I would make an extra ressie or two near the end of your trip. Then on about day 5 you can see how things are going and either cancel them or keep them.

The Rainforest Cafe in AK DOES take DDP. We ate there last Monday and the table next to us used DDP points to eat.

I tried to get an ADR for Rainforest Cafe at AK for september but was told they are not on the plan?? Maybe because of the free DDP or something?

really? does anyone have any experience of using the dining plan here? that would be really good, although i cant see it as its not disney?

maybe you can do it on the platinum plan? We have the premium one and no RFC but it does have room service and all signature dining except V&A (I believe)

Just wanted to add that I've made ADR's for the Rainforest Cafe at AK through Disney Dining twice before.

We went during free DDP last August and shared quite a few meals with no problems. We're booked for two trips during this years free DDP and I've made lots of ADRs with sharing in mind. DS is only 8--he does great when DH gives him the appetizer (usually a salad for him) and I give him half my entree.

OK, I've booked a total of 10 TS, 1 is the Aloha Luau so that takes 2 credits. 2 are character breakfast buffets. Then I have Ohana & Whispering Canyon that I think are family service? So I think total we'll have 18 adult & 18 children TS (we're staying 9 nights.) Those meals will use 12 TS credits of each adult & child leaving us with 6 adult TS & 6 child TS.

Have I done the math right?

So then in addition I have Tony's Town Square, Raglan Road, San Angel, 50's Primetime Cafe, Le Cellier

I'm thinking we will definately split at Tony's Town Square (pizza & pasta: very filling), Raglan Road (I'll probably eat the appetizer & dessert, dh will eat the entree), San Angel (we'll share everything,) 50's Primetime Cafe (share everything), and then eat our own plates at Le Cellier. Then we'll have to buy 4 extra kids meals OOP.

That is assuming we keep all our ADR's which is unlikely. Surely one of those evenings we'll be exhausted. I'm more than willing to skip Tony's, 50's Primetime, or Raglan Rd.

OK, so do I have the math right? We've got 9 nights at ASSp & 8 day tickets with water parks. We won't go to any parks our 1st or last days as we really don't have quite enough time.

What do you think? Did I get OK ressies for free DDP? When I look at my schedule it seems like so much food as some days I can't even imagine using a CS! And definately not a snack.

For quite a few days we'll eat granola bars in our room (we're bringing a coffee maker) and I always bring goldfish, string cheese, fruit chews, & bottled water because I HATE wasting time in a snack line when the kids could be eating a tiny bite in a ride line.

TIA again for any more advice & a big thanks for the tips you've given already (and I'm just gonna skip RC whether it is DDP or not it sounds more complicated than a newbie to DDP should have to go thru!)

So what do you plan on doing with the children's credits if you don't use them for his meals?:confused3

Ahhhh...the upcoming drama. I know lots of other DISers are against it, but based on the recommendation of the CM we booked with, we paid the extra few $$$ to get DS a one-day adult ticket which will give him adult credits. We won't have to worry about child vs. adult credits on these trips.

My sister is thrilled with her son now being an adult (he's 10) as he hates kids meals. If they had gotten DDP when he was 8 I think they would have paid the money for an adult for him.

Oh, no drama from me, and I will never understand why anyone is against it when A)Disney clearly allows the practice and B)You pay for what you get. Thanks for the BRAVE clarification! I was just wondering because I will have some child TS credits left over and was trying to figure out if there was any use for them.

You can give the to me:rotfl2: I'll be about 2 short! And I totally agree. I'm not sure why some dissers have issues with 8 year olds who like adult food. Personally, I would have chosen adult food over mac & cheese or nuggets every time when I was a child.

Give DS a steak any day over chicken nuggets or pizza and he's in high heaven. Glad I've got some supporters on my use of credits (even when they're free).
