What do you do to get through something that you don't want to do? Like when you're really dreading something, how do you make the time go by faster? What are the little things you do?

if im cleaning i listen to music...it helps alot!!
i try not to think about the time too...tho that doesnt always work:rotfl:

Listen to music
Talk to friends
Talk to Mouse :-P
Read
Watch stupid cartoons
Watch movies
Go on YouTube
Anything, anything at all to get my mind of off that thing

What if you have to actually be doing the thing that you've been dreading. Like work or school or spending the day with family members you dislike. Ya know what I mean? What do you do to make the day go by?

If there's something I'm dreading, I try to find something exciting that'll happen after the dreaded event.

Take, for example today. I had a college orientation of sorts, and I was kinda dreading it because I don't know ANYBODY at my school and I'd be spending an entire day with them. And it takes a while for me to warm up to people. So I was a little nervous. But the entire time that I was dreading it, I kept thinking "Just get through today, and then the next stop is Kenny Chesney's concert on the 19th." That helped a lot. Although today wasn't bad and awkward as I imagined, it helped during the days before when I was kinda dreading it.

In the words of Peter Pan,

"Think lovely thoughts!"

So, you can think about Mouse, the DIS, WDW, ya know...

;)

I end up daydreaming.
Or writing a note to someone.
Or making a list of stuff I need to do.
Usually I daydream, and the day seems to zoom by.

I just keep myself busy.
If I'm at work and hating it, I'll just start cleaning stuff. Time goes by so much faster when you have something to do.

ITA.

Occupy yourself, even if it's straightening up a shelf or a desk. Daydream about WDW!

Apparently anything to do with me makes everything better.
xD

I usually just clench my teeth together and get through it.
It would help if you were more specific on whats bugging you.

:)

Mouse.

I don't know if anyone's said this, but I daydream. Like a lot haha.
If something is happening AFTER what I'm doing, and I'm looking forward to it, I usually imagine what it'll be like haha. Like wishing for stuff I guess.

Well I get through the day because songs stay stuck in my head for a while. So if I am getting yelled at I daze off and start singing that song in my head.

I have a very active imagination (still at the age of 19 :upsidedow ) so I usually pretend I'm doing something else.

Or like, if I'm at work, I'll pretend I'm in a movie or something lol, ot like someone is filming me and making a documentary about my life.

And sometimes I just imagine that other, more exciting things are going on around me. Or I'll like, invent a scene in my head that might happen in my movie that I am pretending to be in.

I'm a TOTAL weirdo I know, and I am convinced that I am the only person in the world who does this. Are there more of us out there or is it just me???

But seriously, it helps me get through a day at the office, or a slow day at the movie theatre or a boring lecture in school.

oh i have another one.

if a song comes on at work or something, i'll pretend i'm in the music video (like...i'm not gonna bust out some dance moves in the middle of the office), but i just pretend it's a music video about a girl who works in an office/at a movie theatre/is doing whatever i happen to be doing.

lol.

hooray for imaginations.
i think i have a peter pan complex.

haha funny this thread popped up.. i just got a tattoo that took about an hour to finish.. it hurt like crazy... but yea, i just kinda sat there and zoned out... my imagination is hyperactive, so i have some pretty long chains of thought haha
