If you are playing VMK at WDW or DLR, can you get banned? Can they tell that you're at a park?

What if they put an IP ban on the Disney server? That would a big mess!

I don't think so. My mom created her character in WDW recently and she was able to wander around the Emporium for a bit (all she had time for). If they didn't want you to have the option, they wouldn't have the stations there, or they would cut off immediately after you created your character. And they have to be able to tell you're at the park because the server knows how to distinguish who qualifies for "Born in Park" character privileges (like the Disneyland pin, black ears, etc.) versus regular, "born at home" characters.

When I was down at DL last month I stopped by to log in and play for about 30 min :) had some down time in the rain and it was my 7th day there. had also just finished the park quests. :sunny:

I made a thread about this before. The answer is that you can say you're at the parks. You just cant say you live by the parks, or are at a hotel not far from the parks.

I think s/he means if you start running around shouting obscenities will they give you an IP ban, lol.

I think everyone is not answering the original question. What I think she was asking was whay would happen if they banned you while playing at a park. Would they do an IP ban if you were on a park computer? Lets say you mention the DIS while at a park on their computer. If you were at home you would be banned. How would they ban you if you were in park? They can't really do an IP ban because it is their system. Can they tell at that moment that you are in the park?

You beat me to it Boom! Your explanation was much simpler! Missed you at close tonight! :teeth:

Uh, yeah... didn't think of that interpretation of the question. Whoops. :lmao:

Ahem, anyway. My guess would be they're bound to have some kind of "special ID" for people playing from the park servers. Maybe once you log on through one of the stations, there's some kind of "tag" admins see associated with your name so they know you're in park and thus they'd have to ban you by username. The main reason I think this is because with all the yahoos that play VMK, you know one of them's bound to have tried something like this. We all go to WDW or DL for rides and food and fun and really look forward to it. I'd venture a guess that they look forward to starting trouble from a park just as much, considering some of the things I've seen players do over the months. :rolleyes2

Many times. Many, many times. And you know, you can look at them and just about guess that these people, in WDW or DL, are the:

1. line cutters
2. people who scream throughout rides that are not scary just to annoy you
3. psycho stroller drivers with the "I own the pathway and will knock you down with this stroller if you don't move fast enough. Oh, there's around 10,000 people blocking the walkway in front of you? Learn to fly or teleport around them!" attitude
4. people who are rude to CMs just because they're doing their job
5. the shoplifters (particularly the ones that say "Give me your shirt, hat, dress, and magic pin, NOW!")
6. "You are not allowed to stand within 15 feet of me during Illuminations. That's just rude!" people
7. people who will get into profanity filled arguments over who was standing on the slab of concrete first
8. people who take flash photography on things like Great Movie Ride, even after the massive announcement that you CAN'T do that
9. people who act like the post-fireworks or post-parade MK stampede to the monorails is really the rush to the last way out of a self-imploding city... you know, the ones who will knock down a 90 year old if it means getting to the monorail 10 seconds faster or
10. the random children around age 7 or 8 that see your Pal Mickey, come up to you, say "THAT'S MINE!" and try to rip it off your neck (and yes, I've had that happen to me... TWICE. To which the parents of the kiddies said nada, even while I was spinning out of the way. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the same child that demanded my dress... :lmao: )

Yup, with WDW as with VMK, we take the good with the bad. The kind and (mostly, LOL) sane people with the yahoos.

........ And now I can't get the "YAHOOOOOOOOOO!!!" sound when you log into Yahoo email out of my head. :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Knowing VMK..

They would probably ban themselves.

If they seemed to have a little more education in the way they run things,

They would probably throw you out of there.

As for the bad people in the parks thing, lets just say I did one because another one happened to me.

Last year at Epcot, I was itching to see Illuminations again. Turns out, for the Food and Wine Festival, they were having a party. Instead of having ropes to block the way, they put humongous trees the size of a Parrot Palm Tree in front of us. I did what ever I could to try and get around the person, along with grouping some other furious kids together, and we sat behind the ropes on the paving, and we pretty much laughed at the CM's, because it is a kid's park, and it should be them doing whatever we want to have fun. And the next part was not fun at all.

The CM grabbed me pulled me out of the ropes, and pretty much screamed in my parent's face and mine. Then, the person, who was so ticked off at this point, pulled out a stupid looking lightsaber kind of thing. This is not Luke Skywalker World, is it? The parent of a kid who was with me on the pavement happened to be from New York, and you don't know how mad they can get (Sorry to all NY'ers out there.) She grabbed the CM, and along with my dad, started asking why we should even be here if you aren't even allowed near where we usually go to see Illuminations. The CM never backed off and I spent my night looking at Fireworks, and trees.

LOL, by the CM Light Sabers, do you mean the red sticks that flash like some epiletic fit inducer? I walked onto the island between France and the UK for IllumiNations, then noticed a nibbles table thing, and just as I was thinking 'how odd' this maniac women swept down like the Blair Witch screaming and poked/violated me violently with her saber and accused me of minor sedition before dragging me up the stairs glaring.
Yes, they are scary things.
