Last Saturday, I was driving thru a mall parking next to a grocery store. I was going to turn into a supermarket to get out onto the main road.
I saw a girl up ahead and I waited for her to cross the area, I wanted to drive thru.
She put her hand out for me to stop. I rolled down my window and she said she needed a ride that was maybe a mile away.
I asked her what she was doing and she said she was at a friends house and she had no shoes on and then she swore.
She was holding a horse blanket and I could not see her hands. She said I am @#$@ freezing, give me a ride.
I so wanted to give her a ride, but the swearing at me threw me off. I told her "Sorry, I don't give hitch hiker rides". A car behind me beeped at me to move it and she ran to that car, then I saw her run into the grocery store parking lot.
This girl only had to be 14 or 15 and I felt bad not giving her a ride, but not seeing her hands and swearing at me made my choice easy. I thought about calling 911, but I don't know if that merits an emergency. This town of 34,000 doesn't have cab service and I don't know if their busses run on Saturdays.
Some good samaritan I was.

), so he left me alone. I'm very wary now if anyone pulls over and offers to help, and I'm even warrier of those that need a ride.
