History of DINGS Fares for Orlando

The early bird catches the worm: Got dinged this morning- $39.00 out of Norfolk for September--I just knew this would happen this weekend :cool1:

FINALLY get my ding out of Nashville and its for Tues - Thur only. AAAHHHHH!!! :furious: (that's me screaming  ) Has anyone gotten a limited ding like that and gotten another similar one done the road that wasn't limited?

I like to fly out of BNA as well and haven't seen too many weekend dates available over the past months. I was able to get a Sunday date about a month ago, but those are few and very far in between.

DING me PLEASE, ding me.....I need something GOOD out of the NYC area..... :guilty:

If I only I had the power to control the Dings, I would share one with you. I'm still waiting on something to get me there and home this fall. If I could only use the time that spend waiting for these Dings for something beneficial, like a second job. :rotfl2:

What does everyone think about the new personalized Dings? It appears it is allowing them to tell us more details about what is available without having to put in the dates. From my closest airport, I only have one option for a direct flight to MCO, I know the flight number pretty well. With the new ding format, I can tell if that flight is included without having to attempt reservations.

Any other thoughts?

Well i'm new to the whole ding thing but I purchased my tickets today. $49 one way from Philly.

I'm happy.......................

I've been waiting for this ding from Philly and got a perfect flight leaving at 7:20 AM for 49 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't looked into the new system much yet. But if I'm understanding you correctly, we'll be able to see if the N/S flight from SDF is included or not by the Ding we get? That's awesome! :) Most of the time, it's cheaper out of BNA, but I always check, just to make sure, LOL!

I check Louisville because its the closest. Yes, Nashville is usually cheaper and they have lots of direct flights. I have also flown out of Indy several times even though its a 3 hour drive, but it beats 14 hours one way. Come on Ding King...Give me late October!

...DANG! [not to be confused with 'DING' !] I musta missed it, because the lowest fare I get is $99..... :furious:

EDIT:

With tax and fees, it comes out to $217.60/pp.....(not bad, expect there are 8 of us.....)

...but don't skip past Columbus Day without a ding first ;)

We've not flown out of Indy, I'm not opposed to it at all, but we've been lucky to get what we need flying out of Nashville... which gives us an excuse to stop at the Munfordville Dairy Queen on the way back to Hardin County, LOL!

I'm still deciding if the personalized Dings will be helpful to me or not. Over the last few months, when I was waiting for a particular Ding on a particular flight for my Disney trip, I think this would have made it easier (though I've all but given up hope for my Ding now!!)
For the rest of the time, when I am just looking for a Ding here or there for quick trip for myself or friends/family (why do they always have ME looking for cheap airfare for them??? :rotfl: ), I don't know that this format will help any. I won't know flight numbers when I'm looking for their flights, so I will still have to go to the reservation page to see what is available. So I guess no harm, no foul there.
I do like that I'm able to quickly see just the airports that I'm interested in. But now, I don't see all the Dings. So if my aunt calls and wants me to book her flight to El Paso, and that is not one of my selected Ding cities, I won't be able to see if there is one????

The new Ding personalization does make it harder for the indescriminate traveler who might go anywhere if the price is right or those who are looking for travel for others. At this point in my life, I pretty much only fly out of three airports and only go to another three to five. But I can definitely see how it would hurt the spur of the moment traveler.

YEEEOUCH! :scared:

We are thinking about flying in Feb....the pp rates aren't bad, but when we add up the 7 airfares.....just painful to see that amount. :)

I think it ended at 8 pm CST, but I could be wrong. I'm still looking for return flight deals, so I'll keep you in mind!
