Historical May Codes (specifically POLY)

I see rack rate for garden view (the cheapest view) is $385. What is the lowest price I can expect? We are Fl residents, seasonal pass holders and AAA members. DH would just as soon stay at AKL, and as much as I LOVE that resort, I want to dine at V&As for our anniversary and love the idea of taking the monorail. Plus, we have never stayed at the Poly and my "goal in life" is to stay at every WDW resort.

Sorry I can't help much on the exact rate, but I did check and at least there has been a FL Res rate offered for May for the last 2 years (of course who knows what next year will bring) - per mousesavers.com:

For check ins between 4/17/05-7/4/05 Florida resident room-only code became available on 3/10/05, exp 7/4/05
For check ins between 4/23/06-6/3/06 Florida resident room-only rates became available on 2/23/06, exp 6/3/06

I do know that in checking 11/7 (regular season) earlier for myself and DH, the Poly FL Res rate was $336.38 - or $299 plus tax:
Disney's Polynesian Resort $336.38†
Arriving on 11/07/06 for 1 night
Adults: 2
Room Type: Garden View Room
Park Tickets: None
Package Type: Room Only
Special Rate Type: Florida Residents Room
Per Night Room Price $299.00
Room Total $299.00
Tax $37.38
Total Room Rate $336.38

But if we waited until 11/27 (value season), the rate went to $286.88:
Disney's Polynesian Resort $286.88†

Thanks so much! Your post was most informative! I want to be at WDW on our actual Anniversary (May 3) so whatever the season is (I believe regular) I will just have to deal with it.

I must admit, I am really going to have a hard time spending $300+ for a room. I don't know why...I hear of people doing it all the time, on these boards and in real life. I am afraid I will not enjoy myself as much knowing I am spending almost 1k on 3 nights accomodations...especially since I will definitely get the "cheapest" view. I know it is our TEN year... and I DO want to splurge a bit...*sigh* Ok, I am sorry, I am just thinking out loud.

I know what you mean about being able to pay $$$ for the room per night. Actually it has crossed my mind to book just one night to experience it all. But you cant in one night! There just is not any way to do it for me. Mostly I think alot of those who stay for that rate have a higher standard of living than us and can afford it. I wish I could rent points but with my fathers health I dont dare do it without insurance and take the chance I wont get that phone call during my vacation.

You know, I consider myself a "splurger" on vacation...I think nothing of paying for PftS, or dinner at V&As (hmmm, now I am realizing I am willing to pay $$$ for FOOD but not LODGING, LOL) but for some reason, $300 a night for a room just KILLS ME! It *is* our 10 year, so maybe we ought to just go for it. you are right, though...one night is not enough to really soak it all in.

We are BIG TIME Point renters. We will be staying at BWV for 5 nights in a studio (with a kitchenette) for $550! Only $110 a night! I am not sure exactly how the insurance works, but most people you rent points from will let you cancel your trip...you just "own" those points you purchased and must use them at a later date. Of course that would not help if your trip was interrupted in the middle. So I understand your apprehension.
