historical data with resorts?

Hello,
I'm sorry if this is somewhere and I overlooked it, but I was wondering if there were any places that listed historical discount data that included which hotels were part of the discounts...

Basically I am trying to see which villas were included in package or room only deals for April in past years- we are deciding on where to stay in 2013, and we know we'd pick a villa that was discounted over a non-discounted villa... so it would be nice to see which ones were discounted- all I could locate on mousesavers was the discount for "select" locations. Thanks!

I don't know of any list like that unless some individual is keeping one for themselves (probably unlikely). Even Mousesavers current information doesn't always list all the specific possibilities because Disney sometimes doesn't publish it that way, using that "select" terminology instead.

If any villas are discounted, it is usually SSR, OKW and AKV the most.

And if you're in spring break or Easter time frames, that will be less likely.

The main issue with the listing you're asking for is that availability at resorts varies from day to day. People have been very unhappy when trying to get a certain reservation only to find out that there's just one day that is blocking them from getting a discount or a reservation at all.

If you're going with a DVC villa, it's most likely that the rooms available with a discount will be at either Old Key West or Saratoga Springs. Animal Kingdom Villas also seems to pop up fairly frequently.

You have to look at discounts as a sale. You're stuck with whatever is leftover after its been selling at full price for a while. Since the same people don't go to Disney at the same time every year, the actual availability of rooms changes. You can see this by watching the availability of discounts and how good they are. Nowadays Free Dining seems to be king, and even AP discounts are looking thin. Three years ago, Free Dining was only in September, but they offered other package discounts that ended up being worth quite a bit for most people (percent off AND gift card) and AP holders could count on getting 40% off throughout the year.
Heck, even the mailed pin offers are bleaker than they were a few years ago. Now: 20-30% with significant tiering
Then: 40% off anywhere on the property

Basically, while the general time frames during the year in which discounts are likely can be charted, the actual specifics of those discounts vary so much that it's not worth it for any website to post any detailed information.

In your case, you could go ahead and book SSR or OKW. They're the least expensive of the villas anyway. If a good enough discount comes out for elsewhere, you can always switch.
