Can someone please refresh my memory as to what the lowest price was on BLT for existing members. Was the initial offering the *very* lowest, or did other incentives that rolled out later match it? I can't remember if there was a thread running...:confused3

Thanks!!!

I believe the listed price has always been $112/point with the increase set for early October. There have been numerous incentives since sales began but as far as I know, the best deal was offered on a webcast several months ago where purchasers could get $20/point off (and maybe more - can't recall - if you purchased 300 or more points).

The initial offering was $112 - $5...which also happens to be the current price. I believe there were Developer's Points included with that first offering back in Sept '08.

The best price was in the spring of this year. An existing member adding 200+ points at BLT would get a discount of either $16 per point or $8 per point plus a free 7-night cruise. New members had to add 270 to get the $8 off plus free 7-night cruise.

Those are general public prices. Event prices were usually a little lower, or they would throw in extra incentives like free theater tickets, RCI stay, etc.

I was an existing member and purchased 130 BLT points in April and another 130 in June both at $96 per point. $16 per point if I purchased 125+ points as an existing member.

Thanks for your replies. :goodvibes

I know the webcast next week will focus on VGC, but I'm hoping there might be some offers for BLT as well...wanted something to compare it to. :thumbsup2

Unless there is a fall off on BLT sales, don't expect a great discount at BLT. Our guide tells us the price increase is because the sales are going great at BLT. Disney expects the market to be not affected by a price increase and they'll make more money. If the market will bear the price, ask for it!

However, I think that if BLT sales fall back just a little more, the sales will pick up with AKV and SSR, because at both of these sites the sales have declined once BLT went on the market.

I also think AKV and SSR are lagging because resales are lower than the current rate Disney is offering. Back in August there really wasn't that much difference between buying a resale AKV and a new contract with Disney. We actually priced it ($93 per point for 100 pts.= $19 discount off $112) as we wanted to do a 100 pt add on, but missed the rate by a day. We shouldn't have thought about it over the weekend. I think it would have cost $35 more to buy via Disney. We thought that was worth not going through ROFR. But we missed our chance and now have a bid sitting at ROFR for AKV through the Timeshare store.

Just purchased BLT yesterday in NY at the new store...with the incentive we paid 98/point for 200 points.

Can't wait to visit in Nov!!

We purchased 260 points in April of 2009. Asking price was $112/point, but with incentives, we paid $96/pt. Broke it up into three contracts to make resale easier in the future if we need to go down that path.

I think I must have timed my purchase perfectly - I was in on the "Vacation as you wish" webcast and I got my 360 points for $91 a point.
