Historical Canadian Only Free Dining Offers?

Last Summer, I think it was August or early September of 2011, they offered up free dining dates for Canadians only starting August 18, 2012. That remains the earliest August free dining that has come up all year. I am just wondering if anyone knows if this is a typical kind of offer or if it was unusual for this year.

It is exactly the kind of deal I am hoping for in August of 2013.

It is usually that in mid august, or more to the last quarter of august that free dining is offered to everyone (not specifically canucks) ... I'm watching August 22nd to the 29th as a release date.

Thanks Ted. I take that to mean that in your experience the extra few days Canadians were offered was kind of unusual?

Shoot! Those extra few days really would make a big difference for my family. Oh well, my fingers will be crossed that it may come up again.

My FD trip this year is because of the Cdn free dining deal - especially since I'm going around Aug 22 or 23.

They'll sometimes give us Canadians a little larger of a booking period for free dining, but last year's "almost a year in advance" free dining was a first, they've never given such an advance booking window before that I can recall. Here's hoping they announce free dining for March 2013 for us soon.

I am interested in FD for December or even January.

I just spoke with a CM moments ago to inquire if I should be so lucky to have a PIN attached to my name. Nobody in my family does

I did ask him if he would offer his gut feeling on our odds of getting any kind of offer/discount for fall or winter. He said they really have no idea as that is down to the marketing department. Of course, that is what you expect him to say. He did go on to say though that "Disney has added a lot of stuff in recent years...but they are also taken things away"

I guess everyone could read into that differently. He didn't elaborate as to what exactly he meant.

That last number of years so many different discounts have been offered we have has FD our last three trips, to have to pay full price would be a bit of a system shocker !

Here is some historical data... it shows the date of the "offer"/ "stay" dates and when the offer was available for booking..It as hard to copy and paste this..hopefully it makes sense...

The first set of dates is the eligible Stay dates
Second is the Type of Discount
The last set of dates are the dates the Discount / Promo Became Available
It is good to look at incase you are anticipating an offer to come up. The historical date for the few previous years has approx the same time frames..give or take a few days!

I don't believe they have ever offered Free Dining that early in August. I guess they have enough people booking early/middle of August they don't need to give Free Dining.

They may have done a few days at the end of your dates as Free Dining, but it wouldn't save you much or any $ as you have to purchase a min. of 2 day ticket for each person. Some people have booked two seperate resort stays so they can get the free dining, but that only works if you have 3 or less days at the beginning that aren't free dining dates (you can pick up your tickets early, but only 3 days). Last year I booked a room only for the first night as I had already maxed out the 14 nights for free dining. Since we would arrive late in the day, I only needed to purchase dinner that first day.

But we booked the US version which allows us to arrive on the 25th instead of the 26th -- which we thought was weird (and actually, they Agent originally said as a Canadian we COULDN'T book the regular US offer...

I was wondering about this myself. When I booked FD the morning the offer came out the person I was speaking with couldn't get the code applied to my reservation. I was on the phone with her for 1 & 1/2 hrs. I asked if she couldn't apply it because it was for the US only. She told me that it was for the gereral public not a US offer and she did finally get it applied. Now that they have come out with 2 separate offers I wonder if that was the problem all along.
