Does a disney have anyone to "hire"? I am obviously willing to pay for this. I have been To the World several times & am taking my mom for her first trip in decades! I think that she would get more out of this experience if we had someone guiding her. What are the perks (unlimited fast pass, pointing out hidden Mickeys etc)? If offered what is the additional costs...I may have just dreamed this but I swear this used to be offered :confused3 can anyone help me out here...thank you!

Our family hired a private guide for a day once. I didn't enjoy it. My uncle, however, loved it. Pros: We hit magic kingdom, Epcot, and HS and did all of the "big" rides within probably about three hours. They pick you up at your hotel and drive you wherever you want to go. They take you through the fast pass lines and very little/ no waiting is involved. On top of that, you get to see A LOT of the back stage areas. Cons: It was expensive, and it really took the magic out of it for me. They never take you through the front gate of any of the parks, and it felt weird. I hoped that our guides would be well informed and that they would share hidden secrets with us, but they hardly spoke to us. It wasn't worth it to me. If all you want to do is ride rides, and you have the money, go for it.

I'm thinking this market has dried up.

Some folks have really enjoyed their plaid service. In particular at Disneyland. These people use the service a lot and each has their favorite guide to request. Some are rich and some just save and make it a priority. Many times at WDW it is for help in hitting several parks in one day. However this is possible to do without a guide....

I would not turn it down but I am not sure if I would pay for it given how fun the parks are already... And I like to be the guide :-)

Maybe you and your mom would enjoy one or two of the group tours, to supplement your experience. I have always wanted to do "keys to the kingdom" and "behind the seeds"...not sure if they are stilled those names...someday!
