Hip Hip Hooray for Christmas Vacation... Disney Style!!! A Dec 2010 PTR

Ok so when I last left off, we were waiting out the storm, people watching out front of Columbia Habour House. The rain lasted about 20 minutes or so, so as soon as it died down, we made a beeline over to Splash Mt. to grab some FP's.

With FP's in hand, we decided that we will go ride.

It was at this point that Devon threw a freaking hissy fit b/c I didn't make him an appt at Pirates League! I know I'm a horrible mom! I pretty much told him if he wanted to do it he had to use his own money. Well, that ended that discussion quickly! LOL!!! Pirates had NO line at all, but then again, I don't think I ever really waited too long for this attraction. The best part, get this... My brother was never been on Pirates before!!! Can you believe that!?!?! This was Tim's 3rd visit to Disney and it was closed the 2 previous times we visited. He really liked it, so we rode it again!

After riding Pirates a second time, headed to see what the wait time was for Jungle Cruise. Yeah, the stand-by line was ½ way to the magic carpets!!! Needless to say we skipped that one! Torrential Down pouring started right about NOW, so we sought shelter in the shops near the magic carpet. I'm a bit of a girly girl and I don't like to get my hair wet... Girls, I know you feel me on this one... My hair is super curly so it take some major work to get it so straight.

As we browsed the shops, we saw that Aladdin and Jasmine came out so we ran and got it line to meet them.

By the time we said our goodbyes to Aladdin and Jasmine, the rain had virtually stopped, so we decided that now would be a good time to put some food in our bellies, so we grabbed some grub at, where else... Pecos Bills!!! YUMMY!!! Devon and I split a cheeseburger meal and Tim had some fries. With are stomachs full, it was now time to ride...

OMG we got so stinking wet it was ridiculous!!! My butt got it the worst!!! The darn water came pouring in the side of my log!!! Needless to say I was not a very happy camper get of the ride!!

It was at this point that I suggested that since it was so ungodly HOT out and that being that MK was open till 2am with EMH that we should maybe go back to the resort and swim and relax for a bit!!! The guys didn't even think twice when I said this, so we headed towards the exit and hopped on the bus back to All Star Sports.

I was at that part about you not getting your hair wet. If I put that much work into my hair I would be the same way. I bet as mad as you were about getting wet on splash it probably felt good in the heat. 1 thing I love about traveling to disney in the summer is those late park hours. Gosh that drove me nutz in sept to have the parks close at 8pm. We probably will go back in the summer of either 2012 or 2013. We are planning to go with my parents and possibly my aunt. It will be a longer trip and I want to save as much $ as possible to make it special. I am still hoping to take the girls trip with my mom and aunt in february for the princess half. I am waiting to get my moms decision if she wants to go.....I have been patiently waiting for her for months now and saturday would be the 180d mark. She is really putting a cramp on my planning......she just doesnt understand. I hope she decides tomorrow and if so we will be booking immediately so I can make my ADR's.

Cant wait to here more about your trip and heres another double digit dance for ya!

haha, it is so funny when it starts raining and everyone starts running for cover. What kills me more is when they all put on their ponchos when it's not even raining that hard and then it only lasts for a couple minutes.

Great MK updates. We had to pay our dues to Toontown too. So sad it's going to be gone soon.

I also have to mention that I have the same coach bag that I use in the parks only mine is pink with the brown trim. I find that it is perfect to keep our important stuff in! We have great taste!!

I know I'm such a nut about my hair, Devon makes fun o me all the time!!! And yes, getting wet on Splash, definitely did feel GOOD in the heat!!!

Yeah, i agree I definitely like the late park hours in the summer, gives you the opportunity to go back to the resort for a mid day break.

Oh, so the whole family is coming or the next trip!!! That should be so much fun!!! As of right now, my family, minus my mom and dad, are planning on going next summer over the Labor day weekend (8/31-9/6). Matter to fact a year from today, if things stay as planned I will be getting ready to leave NOW!!!

I sure do hope your mom decides to go!!! My fingers are crossed or you!!!

Thanks girl!!! Apparently Devon is still into the pirate thing! But I will say it was such a cool experience when he did it last year for MNSSHP!!! I doubt we will do it in Dec. TO be honest the boy doesn't even like the paint on his face he says it itches!

OMG Trish, I just love that Coach bag for the parks!!! It's prefect!!! This is my 3rd year using that style bag!! When ewe go in December, I will be using it again, but I also think I may bring one of those drawsting backpack type bags too.

We made it safely back to All Star Sports and headed towards the room to get our bathing suits on... Only I noticed as we were walking past the Surf Pool that NO ONE was in it!!! Everyone was just sitting around the pool area. I asked the life guard what was up and he told me that there was lightening in the area, that the pool would be reopening in 5 minutes as long as the skies were clear! Cool!!! Back to the room we went. Tim and Devon had their suits on within minutes, grabbed their towels and were out the door... Ok, thanks for waiting for me guys!!! I changed into my bathing suit and decided that I would walk around the resort before heading to the pool. Here are some pics I took on my travels!

After walking thru the lobby, I decided to fill up our mug with some Coke and lounge my the pool while Tim and Devon swam.

As you can see the skies started to get dark again!! UGH!!!

It was at this point that the skies opened up yet again... No lightening or thunder so everyone was allowed to stay in the pool, I took cover under and umbrella and relaxed!!!

After about a 1/2 hour or so the rain stopped, but it started thundering so they made everyone get out o the pool... We gathered up our belongings and walked back to the room to get ready for our evening at the Magic Kingdom!!!

While I was getting ready... Yes doing my hair, Devon decided to play paparazzi!!!

Once the photog Devon was done taking pics, I made his little rear-end jump in the shower so we could get going... Only once he got out his is what happened!!!

A baby was tired!!!

Tim and I decided we would let him sleep for a little so we took the time to watch some soccer and I made a few phone calls home. After a about 45 minutes I woke up Devon got him dressed and we went to the food court for a bite to eat before heading to the bus stop.

Dinner was yummy.... Timmy and I both had the chicken quesadillas and Devon had the kids pasta dinner!!!

Next up back to the Magic Kingdom we go!!! Does rain put a damper on our night???

And yes the short rain showers were definitetly a relief from the heat! This is really the first time we went back to the resort for a mid day break ever!!! I will definitely be doing that again in the future especially if we go during the warmer months!

Thanks Jenn! Getting closer to December everyday! I know Dev is so cute when he sleeps. It cracks me up that he grabbed a towel to cover up with! I love the pic so much that when he calls my cell phone that is the pic that comes up! LOL

Thanks Erin, I have to say, I was very impressed with Sports!!! I will definitely stay there again in a heart beat! Next year I think we are going back to POP! More to come soon!
